AILET 2026 Couselling Schedule

National Law University (NLU) Delhi has released the counselling schedule for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026 on December 18, 2025. Candidates who appeared for the BA LLB (Hons.) and LLM entrance exams can now check the detailed timeline on the official university portal, nationallawuniversitydelhi.in

The NLU has released the Counselling Invite List on December 19, 2025, containing the names of candidates eligible to participate in the online registration process. Successful candidates must complete their registration and fee payment between December 19 and December 27, 2025.

Once registrations for BALLB (H) and LLM are processed, NLU Delhi will announce the First Provisional Merit List on January 8, 2026, followed by the Second Provisional Merit List on January 21, 2026. As the admission cycle continues into the new year, the Third Provisional Merit List is scheduled for release on February 4, 2026, with the final Fourth Provisional Merit List expected much later on May 5, 2026, to fill any remaining vacancies.

AILET 2026 Counselling Eligibility and Selection Process

BA LLB (Hons.)

  • Eligibility: Candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates). Candidates appearing for their board exams in 2026 are also eligible.
  • Selection Process: Admission is strictly based on the AILET 2026 Merit Rank. Candidates in the "Invite List" must register and pay the counselling fee to be considered for seat allotment.

LLM (One-Year)

  • Eligibility: An LLB or equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD).
  • Selection Process: Selection is based on the AILET PG 2026 score. In case of a tie, seniority (age) and then a computerised draw of lots are used to determine the rank.

AILET 2026 Counselling Fee Structure

1. Counselling Registration Fee (Non-Refundable for Allotted Seats)

  • General / Kashmiri Migrants: ₹30,000
  • SC / ST / PwD/OBC / EWS: ₹20,000

2. Annual Course Fee

  • BA LLB (Hons.): ₹3.83 Lakhs per annum (including hostel and mess).
  • LLM: ₹2.61 Lakhs per annum.
  • Provisional Confirmation Fee: ₹50,000 (to be paid after seat allotment to secure the seat).

A total of 25,319 aspirants appeared for the AILET 2026 to compete for the limited seats. Specifically, the university offers 120 seats for the BA LLB (Hons) program and 81 seats for the LLM program.

The selection process is highly competitive, as the university invites candidates in a 3:1 ratio relative to the available seats. This means 360 to 400 candidates are shortlisted for the BA LLB (H) invite list. To secure a spot, candidates must register and pay the required fees by December 27, 2025.

AILET 2026 Counselling-How to Apply?

  1. Visit the Website: Go to nationallawuniversitydelhi.in.
  2. Login: Access your account using your registered mobile number and password.
  3. Upload Documents: Upload self-attested copies of Class 10/12 marks statements or graduation degree, Character Certificates, and Category Certificates (if applicable).
  4. Pay Fee: Complete the payment of the Counselling Registration Fee online.
  5. Submit: Save and print the confirmation page for future reference.
