AICTE and Jio Institute have come together to train faculty in the fields of AI and Data Science. The program promises to provide educators with advanced skills and knowledge to navigate the evolving landscape of technology-driven education.

New Delhi: Jio Institute and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have commenced a groundbreaking collaboration to establish a Faculty Development Program centred around Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science.
This strategic partnership aligns with the ATAL (AICTE Training and Learning) initiative, which aims to enhance the skills of faculty members from AICTE-approved institutions. Jio Institute will serve as the host for a comprehensive five-day residential program designed for faculty development.
The Faculty Training Program in AI and Data Science inauguration has been scheduled for August 21, 2023, and will be led by Professor TG Sitharam, the Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The collaborative effort is centred around the primary goal of equipping senior faculty members and academic leaders with a deep understanding of AI and Data Science. Furthermore, the program places notable importance on the ethical aspects of leveraging AI tools to enhance immersive educational experiences.
Through this initiative, an exclusive cohort of 40 faculty members from AICTE-affiliated institutions will undergo intensive training.

Professor Sitharam expressed that the partnership with Jio Institute highlights their dedication to fostering advanced education. This commitment ensures that faculty members are sufficiently prepared to address upcoming challenges, arming them with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of evolving educational landscapes and champion the cause of academic excellence.
The objective of the program is to provide participants with valuable insights into establishing effective teaching and learning environments in light of the increasing impact of AI-driven information and research.
The course curriculum covers a wide range of topics, spanning from Data Visualization, Natural Language Processing, Time Series & Optimization, Applications, and Generative AI, to Large Language Models.
These subjects delve into the profound effects of AI and data sciences across diverse sectors like science, engineering, healthcare, and liberal arts.
Leading experts and educators of global stature will facilitate the program. Esteemed figures including Dr G Ravichandran, Dr Ravee Chittoor, Dr Nilay Yajnik, and Dr Shailesh Kumar from Jio Institute's AI COE, Prof. Vishnuprasad Nagadevara (Former Dean, IIM Bangalore), Dr Larry Birnbaum (Northwestern University USA), Mr Jayen Thakker (formerly of Tableau and IBM), and Mr Prasad Joshi (AI COE, Jio) will lead various sessions.
