
Tuition fees at Maastricht University (UM) vary by study level. The university offers 70 master’s programs and 27 bachelor’s programs. Tuition fees are divided into two categories: Institutional Fees and Statutory Tuition Fees. All international students (including Indian students) are required to pay institutional tuition fees.
Annual Tuition Fees (UG): INR 14.52 L to 20.24 L

Cost of Attendance (excluding tuition fees): INR 19.59 L
Maastricht University provides a limited number of scholarships to international students. Scholarships, such as the NL-High Potential Scholarship, cover full tuition fees, insurance, visa cost and provide a monthly stipend for eligible students. Indian students applying for a Dutch student visa must obtain a residence permit (VVR) and, in most cases, an entry visa (MVV). International first-year students requiring a visa cannot pay tuition fees via digital authorisation or instalments.
Note: The MVV is usually the visa you get before entering the Netherlands, and the VVR is the residence permit you hold while studying there.

International students can pay their tuition fees either in a lump sum or in instalments. They can use digital authorisation or a bank transfer. Students will need to select their preferred payment method while registering in Studielink.
Additional Tip: If you have already registered in Studielink but have not yet chosen a payment method, complete this step via the ‘To do’ list in Studielink.

Important Consideration: Students who need a visa (like from India) are not allowed to pay by direct debit or instalments. They must pay the full annual tuition fee in one lump sum by bank transfer before Maastricht University can send their visa application to the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND).
Note: Paying via digital authorisation requires a SEPA‑IBAN bank account - a bank account in the Netherlands or another SEPA country. If an Indian students do not already have such an account before applying, they will not be able to use this method.

Important Consideration: When making a payment, always state your student ID number, consisting of an ‘i’ and seven digits (e.g. i2345678).
