This allows Maastricht University to directly verify your Class XII certificate, mark sheets, or other required documents with the issuing board or authority in India.
FAQs
Ques: Why are my Indian academic qualifications not verifiable through DUO?
Ans: Indian qualifications are often not digitally verifiable through DUO because most Indian boards and universities are not linked to the Dutch verification system. However, students will need to upload the “Permission for document verification” form in the MyApplication portal to get their qualifications verified.

FAQs
Ques: Is Problem-Based Learning (PBL) at Maastricht University difficult for Indian students to adapt to?
Ans: Yes, PBL can feel challenging initially for Indian students who are used to lecture-based teaching. Classes involve small group discussions, self-study, presentations, and active participation. However, most students adapt within the first semester, and the system helps develop critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills valued by employers.
Ques: Can Indian students work part-time while studying at Maastricht University?
Ans: Indian students are allowed to work part-time in the Netherlands, but they must ensure their employer applies for a work permit. Due to the academic workload at UM, especially with problem-based learning, many students find it difficult to balance part-time work during the semester and prefer working during holidays instead.
Ques: Is Maastricht city suitable for Indian students in terms of lifestyle and daily needs?
Ans: Maastricht is considered student-friendly and relatively affordable compared to larger Dutch cities. Indian students can find vegetarian food options, Indian grocery stores in nearby cities, and an international student community. - Provided 1 year Research Master's programme within 12,000 euros. The Netherlands is extremely international students friendly, and has a cosmopolitan atmosphere. One can stay up to 2 years looking for a job once they complete a research (WO) master's from NL.
- PBL method of learning; individual attention given to students due to small class strength.Got 6 months of time for thesis. Got to and fro help from thesis supervisor.
Dislikes
- The Board of Examiners are harsh and rude, particularly towards the international students. Terrible experience shared by many students. Also industry exposure and placement assistance could have been given.
Overview
I was the Programme Ambassador of Globalization and Development Studies; I represented my university on a global platform, organized orientation sessions, connected with prospective international students, and facilitated sessions at Utrecht University. I was also handling the official social media profiles of my univerisity.
Campus Life
ECAs- not too much. 1 year Master's is extremely intense; you need to earn 60 ECTS, and I had to write approximately 25-30 papers. You do not get any time to breathe. They have a beautiful library.
