Eindhoven University of Technology Application Deadlines for Indians

Eindhoven University of Technology runs one annual cycle for Indian (non-EEA) applicants, anchored on the September 2027 intake. The Studielink registration window opens on 1 October 2026, after which TU/e invites applicants to upload documents and pay the application fee on its OSIRIS portal. A small February 2027 master’s window exists for select programmes only and is not the planning route for Indian students.

Planning note: The 15 January Bachelor’s date is hard and applies to every Indian applicant. Numerus Fixus programmes such as Industrial Design and Architecture have no extensions, so file at least a week early.

Eindhoven University of Technology Eligibility for Indian Students

Eligibility at Eindhoven University of Technology is set centrally and then layered with subject prerequisites per programme. Indian applicants meet the academic floor with strong Class XII or Bachelor’s results in Mathematics-heavy streams, and submit a recognised English score to clear the language bar.

• Bachelor’s academic floor: Class XII (CBSE, ISC or state board) at around 70 percent, with Mathematics and Physics in the last two years for engineering programmes.
• Master’s academic floor: a relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognised Indian university, with a cumulative average around 70 percent (roughly a GPA of 7.0 on a 10-point scale).
• Subject prerequisites: Mathematics is required across all engineering and CS programmes. Physics and Chemistry are required for chemical, mechanical and electrical streams.
• English minimum: IELTS 6.5 overall with 6.0 per section, TOEFL iBT 90 overall with 21 per section (for reports issued before 21 January 2026), Cambridge C1 Advanced 176 overall (169 per section), PTE Academic 61 overall (46 per section), or LanguageCert Academic 70 overall (65 per section).
• GRE or GMAT: not required for any Master’s programme. TU/e reviews academic transcripts, motivation letter and CV instead.

Eindhoven University of Technology IELTS Waivers for Indians

TU/e publishes English-test exemptions for holders of degrees from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Malta, Barbados, the United Kingdom or the United States, plus IB or EB diplomas taught in English and Dutch VWO or Belgian ASO. India is not on this exempt list, so an Indian three-year Bachelor’s taught in English does not qualify for a waiver. Plan on submitting a fresh IELTS, TOEFL iBT, Cambridge, PTE or LanguageCert score, valid within two years of your application date.

Insider note: Indian three-year Bachelor’s degrees from UGC-recognised universities are accepted for direct master’s entry at TU/e. There is no four-year requirement, unlike many US programmes.

Eindhoven University of Technology Master’s Programs and Admissions

The Eindhoven University of Technology Graduate School delivers Master’s programmes in English across engineering, computer science, design and innovation. All listed programmes run for two academic years and 120 ECTS, with the same institutional English floor of IELTS 6.5 (6.0 per section). Insider note: Programmes such as Computer Science and Engineering, Data Science, Embedded Systems, Information Security, Chemical Engineering and Innovation Management require an extra application form on top of the standard Studielink and OSIRIS submission. Build a week of buffer for that step.

Eindhoven University of Technology Bachelor’s Programs and Admissions

Eindhoven University of Technology Bachelor’s programmes run for three academic years and 180 ECTS, taught fully in English. Most use the open-entry route, but a few are Numerus Fixus (capped seats with a selection score). All Indian applicants pay the non-EEA base tuition of EUR 18,600 per year (around INR 19.91 Lakhs).

Numerus Fixus programmes use a ranked selection round after the 15 January deadline. Selection mixes academic record, motivation and a short on-task assessment, with results communicated by 15 April. Open-entry programmes confirm admission once eligibility is verified, usually within four to six weeks.

Eindhoven University of Technology PhD Admissions and Funding

Eindhoven University of Technology does not run a standalone PhD application portal. Doctoral candidates apply against advertised paid PhD positions posted on the TU/e Careers page, each tied to a specific research group and supervisor. Indian applicants are evaluated on Master’s transcripts, a research statement and an interview shortlist round.

• Eligibility: a relevant Master’s degree at 70 percent average or equivalent, with research output, publications or a strong thesis.
• Application route: respond to a posted vacancy on the TU/e Careers portal, not via Studielink.
• Interview: a virtual round with the prospective supervisor and a panel member, focused on the research proposal and methodology fit.
• Duration: four years on a full employment contract under the Dutch Universities CAO (collective labour agreement, a sector-wide pay and benefit pact).
• Salary: year-one gross of around EUR 2,900 per month (around INR 3.10 Lakhs), rising to around EUR 3,300 per month (around INR 3.53 Lakhs) by year four, plus 8 percent holiday and 8.3 percent end-of-year allowances.

TU/e also runs EngD (Engineering Doctorate) traineeships, a two-year salaried programme blending industry projects with applied research. EngD entry is competitive and uses a separate application timeline per track, with rolling intakes through the year.

Planning note: PhD vacancies are listed in batches and close as soon as a suitable candidate is selected. Indian applicants should set up an email alert on the TU/e Careers portal rather than waiting for a fixed deadline.

Eindhoven University of Technology Application Process

The Eindhoven University of Technology application route runs in two halves. You start at Studielink (the Dutch national application clearing house), and TU/e then invites you into its own OSIRIS portal to upload documents and pay the application fee. Indian applicants should plan on four to six weeks for the full file build.

1. Register on Studielink using a DigiD-equivalent code (TU/e supplies this for international applicants).
2. Select up to four programmes per academic year, with the primary choice pinned first.
3. Wait for the TU/e invitation email to log into the OSIRIS application portal.
4. Upload certified transcripts, English test report, motivation letter, CV and any programme-specific forms or portfolios.
5. Pay the application fee of EUR 100 (around INR 10,704) on the Studielink-linked OSIRIS portal. The fee is non-refundable.
6. Track status updates on OSIRIS. TU/e contacts you for clarifications if any document is missing or unclear.

Before you apply: Get every transcript signed, stamped and translated by your university’s controller of examinations before you start Studielink. Missing certifications are the single largest cause of file rejection for Indian applicants.

Eindhoven University of Technology Admission Decisions Timeline

Eindhoven University of Technology rolls out admission decisions in batches once an application file is complete. Indian applicants typically receive a verdict within six to eight weeks of submitting all documents on OSIRIS, with selective and Numerus Fixus programmes following a fixed announcement calendar.

• Open-entry Master’s: conditional or final offer within 6 to 8 weeks of a complete file.
• Numerus Fixus Bachelor’s: selection rank shared by 15 April, with offers issued within two weeks of that date.
• Conditional offer: common where a final transcript or English score is pending. Accept the offer to lock the seat, then upload the pending document by the stated date.
• Acceptance deadline: typically two to three weeks from offer date. Missing this triggers an automatic withdrawal.
• Deferral: TU/e allows a one-cycle deferral on case-by-case grounds, requested in writing through the admission officer assigned in your OSIRIS profile.

The offer letter doubles as the basis for the guarantee fee invoice, which is the residence-permit-linked advance payment Indian students must clear before TU/e files the visa request with the Dutch Immigration Service (IND).

Eindhoven University of Technology Documents Required

Indian applicants build the Eindhoven University of Technology document file in parallel with the Studielink registration. All documents must be in English or Dutch, or accompanied by a notarised English translation. Originals are not uploaded; certified scanned copies suffice for the initial review.

• Passport bio-page: a clear colour scan, valid for at least six months past the programme end date.
• Bachelor’s degree certificate (for Master’s applicants) or Class XII marksheet and pass certificate (for Bachelor’s applicants), certified by your university or school.

• Curriculum vitae: two-page maximum, listing education, internships, projects and publications.
• Course descriptions: Master’s applicants submit syllabi or course outlines of their Bachelor’s subjects.
• Summary of Bachelor’s thesis or final project in English.
• Portfolio: only for Industrial Design and Architectural Urban Design specialisations.
• Programme-specific form: required for CS and Engineering, Data Science, Embedded Systems, Information Security, Chemical Engineering, Innovation Management and a few others.
• Application fee proof: Studielink-OSIRIS payment receipt for the EUR 100 fee.

Eindhoven University of Technology Acceptance Rate 

Eindhoven University of Technology does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Public estimates for non-EEA applicants who meet the published eligibility floor sit around 60 to 70 percent, based on TU/e’s open-entry policy for most Master’s programmes paired with subject-prerequisite filtering and language-test screening on the way in.

Eindhoven University of Technology Admit Patterns for Indians

The selectivity picture splits in two. Numerus Fixus Bachelor’s programmes (Industrial Design, Architecture) run a competitive selection round where admit rates drop below 30 percent. Most Master’s programmes admit applicants who clear the prerequisite list, push their English score above the 6.5 floor and write a motivation letter that maps to the research group’s interests. Computer Science, Embedded Systems and Data Science have a higher subject-fit bar because of the extra programme form.

Reality check: A Class XII or Bachelor’s average just at the 70 percent floor is rarely enough on its own for Computer Science, Data Science or Embedded Systems. Indian admits typically sit at 75 percent and above, with a Mathematics-strong transcript.

Netherlands Student Visa for Eindhoven University of Technology Applicants

Indian admits to Eindhoven University of Technology need a Provisional Residence Permit (MVV) plus a Residence Permit (VVR) for stays over 90 days. TU/e itself files the MVV-VVR application with the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) on the student’s behalf, after the offer is accepted and the guarantee fee is cleared.

The financial proof requirement for the 2026-27 cycle is around EUR 14,592 per year (around INR 15.62 Lakhs), held in a TU/e-named blocked or guarantee account. Indian applicants book the biometrics appointment at the VFS Global office in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore or Hyderabad after IND issues the MVV approval. On arrival, students complete municipal registration (BSN), collect the residence permit card from IND, and enrol in Dutch health insurance within four months.

2026 update: The IND now expects the guarantee fee transfer at least eight weeks before the September intake. Indian applicants planning a Q3 remittance should budget for SWIFT and bank-margin charges on top of the published amount.
