Course Curriculum

10

  • The course was difficult at times. Usually it was less when to do it and more like how to do it. It was completely assignment based and you were graded based on that.
  • The average number is more than 100 and there were about 15 Indians in my class. It depends on what course you take. Somedays, you have 3 and somedays none. Subjects have their slots and while picking make sure no two subjects have the same slot.AC

Admission Experience

  • I applied to 3 universities; I got rejected by all, even this one but there was a misunderstanding from their side so they relented later.
  • The rest two were German universities and Germans are known not to accept their mistakes.
  • There was a mismatch in the syllabus for the German universities, which was told to me by mail but the standards of the German universities are a lot higher.
  • There are really few universities with M.Sc. in Automotive Technology. You need a GRE and IELTS score. You also need 2 letters of recommendation and a statement of purpose. Admission was smooth; we were assigned a mentor to help us through the university life and showing around the campus. We were helped with first year of accommodation, bank account, and other things as well.
  • I applied to winter intake; there was no summer intake for my course. The process took a few months, like 5 at most. I don't remember the detailed timeline, just that I submitted the documents and hoped for the best. I was still in the last year of btech so it's not a problem if you don't have your degree or complete marks. If your total percentage is above 75%, you will be considered.

Faculty

8

  • The faculty-student ratio is what I am not aware of. The teaching methodology was PowerPoint based and we were given notes. Teachers assist part time and teaching assistants are available full-time.
  • I didn't have any favourites but the faculty was really helpful. The teachers assist in finding internships and theses through their connections so that's not a problem.

Campus Life

10

  • Well, I studied during corona so no events happened infront of me. Although Eindhoven has a light festival every year, also kings day and many other festivals throughout the year. There are university elections too but since it was corona nothing actually happened much. The rest of the things are just stories I heard from people who have lived in Eindhoven for a longer time.

Part Time Jobs

  • About 2-3 students get the teaching assistant post for like one course only. If you are a PhD student, then you are automatically assigned under professors for assistant positions. For TA, it's about 300+ euros per month.
  • There are cafes where you can work on campus. The minimum wage is 11 euros per hour. For a student, only 20 hours. I never applied for one so I don't know.
  • Students earn like 11 per hour to 16 depending on the job. Some part-time jobs, like delivery ones, are easy to get. For the delivery ones, you can get up to 16 euros per hour. You apply online usually and hand in your CV along with your BSN number and passport details. Bank details are required for salary to be credited; some have a short interview and then you sign a contract and that's it.

Placement

4

1. Due to corona everyone had a hard time getting one but those who did their interships or thesis in a company got picked up easily.
2. For masters the minimum wage is 2800 per month.
3. There are no placements, usually companies as I mentioned if you interned there will hire you or you just apply.

4. ASML, DAF, TMC, Volvo, etc. There are a lot though.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • Like I said, university does help for the first year atleast which was minimum 700 euros per month basic rent. It included electricity and water. It also depends on place to place if your washing machine charge is included or not.
  • My first accommodation was just opposite the campus, a 5 min walk where I stayed for one year.

Exams

  • I gave IELTS and GRE both for this. I had a score of 315 in GRE and a band of 8 in IELTS. You are required to have a resume, bachelor's degree, syllabus, marksheets, at least a letter of recommendation, and a statement of purpose for the admission process.
  • You also have to send some of these documents by post to the university. They must be in a sealed and stamped envelope.

Fees

  • 16,500 euros per year tution fees. 10,500 euros should be there atleast for one year. Both should be wired to the university account in order to show that you are capable of funding your studies.
  • Fees is charged yearly. You can pay it monthly too but that is not recommended. The hostel costs a minimum of 700 euros per month and a minimum of 100 euros for groceries.

Scholarship

  • Yes, it's by the university itself. You get immediately considered when you apply but a few get it. No idea how many students receive it but only tuition fees and even if you do get a scholarship, you still have to wire the tuition fee of 16500 euros which you get back later.
  • You also get back the 10,500 euros back for spending, it's just that university should know you have that amount.
