- Huge campus, it takes time to go from class to class
- Expensive college dorm
- Unfair evaluation system
Campus Life
- My College has two huge campuses: one is belfield the other is the Smurfit campus in BlackRock.
- Every facility one could imagine: a gym, a swimming pool, various sports grounds, a library, medical facilities for both physical and mental health, and a student center.
- Events like webinars, health screenings, memorial events, fitness events, science events and conferences.
- Most of the extracurricular activities take place in clubs, as students can enroll in one. There are a lot of clubs and fun activities.
Accommodation
- I used a third-party website to find accommodation, like daft. My monthly rent is 700 euros plus bills. It includes heating systems, a desk bed, cupboards, and a shared kitchen and bathroom.
- It's really hard to find one because of the number of students last year.
- Yes, if Students want to secure accommodation, it's better to plan as early as possible. Because at the last moment the prices get skyrocketed.
- It takes me 2 hours to get to College from my accommodation.

Likes
- Great career support provided via career counselors worked as an HR in companies like google, microsoft etc.
- Great assignments for up-skilling yourself and practical based learning
- Great industrial tie-ups and Great alumni network
Dislikes
- To be honest nothing as such to dislike about.
Campus Life
- My college has 2 campuses, one in Belfield for engineering and other courses and one in Blackrock for mainly graduate business studies. The Blackrock campus is smaller than the Belfield one, and also the Belfield campus is very beautiful and modern as well. whereas the Blackrock campus is more traditional and will remind you about European architecture.
- Both the campuses have a huge library, host career events, have free breakfast during exam time, movie nights on campus, hiking trips, and have football, cricket, a gym, hockey, badminton, basketball, etc. If you have an interest in any sports, you can join their clubs.
Accommodation
- You can apply online on your university website or you can use Facebook Marketplace, but beware, as scams happen on Facebook. There are multiple WhatsApp groups as well where people offer short-term or long-term accommodations. But according to my experience, in the initial days, always book student accommodation, as finding homes from India would be difficult or your housemates might not be according to your liking and you might end up shifting multiple times.
- Few websites for student accommodations are aparto, nido, hugo, point campus (these are the off-campus student accommodation slightly on higher side.)

Likes
- Strong academic reputation and global ranking QS 125.
- Well Structured MSc in Data and Computational Science.
- Green, Spacious and Peaceful Environment
Dislikes
- Administrative processes can be slow and bureaucratic
- High cost of living in Dublin, especially for accomodations
- Limited on-campus accommodation availability for postgraduates
Campus Life
- My college has two campuses: Belfield being the main one and Michael Smurfit Business School for business courses. UCD has several libraries, including the James Joyce Library. For sports, there are several clubs one can join, and almost all the outdoor and indoor sports are provided with world-class infrastructure for each.
- There is on-campus medical support and doctor appointments are available. UCD has more than 120 student clubs and societies that keep conducting various events throughout the year.
- UCD Global Village: A cultural fair where international students showcase their countries' food, traditions, and performances. I am personally part of Cricket Club of UCD, which conducts regular practice sessions and I am also part of Indian Society, Physics Society, International Students Society, etc.
Accommodation
- I used Amber Student to find my student accommodation, they helped me to know every detail of it. But there are more platforms like Cassata and University living. Not having anyone here to personally search and visit is a challenge I faced. I would recommend to ask someone who lives there to give proper visits and verify the property as there are scams taking place.

Dislikes
- Lecture timings and schedules..
- Different approach to modules by each professor
- Fee to join student clubs and societies
Campus Life
- I enjoy participating in events organised by UCD societies. Students can participate in societies and events to connect with new people.
- They also do day trips to different tourist spots to have an enriched experience. I felt satisfied by UCD's health service, which can be helpful to students who need medical attention and find difficulty getting access to a GP in Ireland.
Accommodation
- With an ongoing crisis in Ireland, it is extremely difficult to find an accommodation that provides value for money. Though websites like daft.ie could be helpful sometimes, most people rely on Facebook/Whatsapp groups, which pose a risk of getting scammed.
- I would recommend finding a connection who would help you view properties to see if they are legitimate to avoid getting scammed. It is best to prefer student accommodations that provide end-to-end services or shared apartments.

- 1. Best in Ireland in terms of reputation, program and overall presence in market. 2. Project management because of experience and skillset.
- Located at a safer place in Dublin, excellent facilities for commutation. frequent bus services from within the campus and in house dinning options along with sports area, theatre and clubs.
Dislikes
- Nothing apart from the hostel rent as mentioned. paying 1000+ euro for a month becomes too much when you calculate you monthly expense in Ireland. That is only available for 10 months.
Campus Life
UCD is huge to explore everything in one year. more than 100 clubs, sports, Art and facilities. Very lively campus with no racism, Bar in house, and excellent facilities provided.
Accommodation
Hostel accommodation available - 1000+ euro/ month ( too costly in my opinion ) Sharing options - can find on WhatsApp groups and Facebook. Avg of 600 Eur without bills. Do not pay anything in advance unless you are here in Ireland and know the landlord and met in person.

- Ireland is the upcoming market for my career path which was aligned to business analysis.

The campus provides a wide opportunity for all the activities both indoor and outdoor Clubs like sailing, scuba and surfing caught my eyes to keep me fit physically and the clubs like entrepreneurship and languages kept me mentally strong.
Accommodation
I live in a student accommodation that sums up to 1200 euros each month which includes accommodation/gym/common areas

- The overall reputation, quality of education & placement support were some of they key factor why I chose UCD.
- "Quality of education and the overall reputation of the university was one of the main factors behind choosing this university. Other than that, the placement support and job fairs are also some of the reasons why I like University College Dublin. "
Dislikes
- The one thing I don’t like about my college is the student support and the delay in responses that we get from the program coordinators. It’s understandable to expect delay but some of us have gotten delays in responses for weeks.
Campus Life
The campus infrastructure is great, with several colleges and buildings within the university for us to explore. The events carried out by the college societies keep the energy high at all times.
Accommodation
I live at a student accommodation, which is a little expensive, but as a student abroad, the facilities provided by the accommodation company are very good, and I really like the infrastructure and the ambience that this place has.

- My PhD supervisor was well-known in my chosen area of research.
- Academically, it is a great place to pursue your studies. You would learn from the top scientists and academicians in your chosen area of study. Besides this, the support they give to students is immense, and especially as an international student, you'd never feel that you were staying away from home, as you would find several Indian students at the campus.
- Also, there are several students’ clubs where you can meet and greet people. More importantly, you will have a great time learning with several like-minded people across the globe.
Dislikes
- One of the major limitations that Indian students would face at the University is the lack of accommodation support. It is nearly impossible to get a place to stay close to the institute as the prices are either way expensive or it is very hard to get a place e.g., for every single room there will be around 30-50 people will be competing.
- I believe the university hostel accommodation have to be booked well-advanced (may be like a year or so) but again it is expensive.
Campus Life
There are several clubs to engage students, especially international ones. I was a member of a movie club where once a week or so they ran movies. You have WiFi at every single place on campus, they also have a gym, a swimming pool, a mini restrobar etc. Research facilities are top-notch, as you'd find almost all the advanced machines in the corresponding labs.
Accommodation
To reiterate, one of the major limitations that Indian students would face in Ireland is the lack of accommodation options. For every single room/apartment in and around the city, around 30–50 people will be competing.

- UCD holds a special place in my heart. My enrolment at the prestigious university has given me innumerable and memorable experiences to cherish. It’s accepting of all cultures, had a supporting environment and a lovely lake with beautiful swans and ducks.
- They organise student international trips with discounted prices which is worth trying out. They also have multiple cultural forums that you can take part in. That also offer scholarships for students.
Dislikes
- I don’t particularly dislike anything about my university. If I have to choose with a hard thought, then it will be something like distance from the centre. It’s quite on the outskirts. Also, college fees is on the higher level so it can be reduced.
Campus Life
Everything great. I don’t have anything to complain. UCD organizes multiple cultural programs and hubs and student internal trips which is student friendly. Have easy access to libraries.
Accommodation
I had booked student accommodation at the UCD student accommodation apartments - Belgrove Residences. They have about 4 kinds of residences for international students. We have to book about 5 months prior to grab a place in the apartment m. Usually, they will club people form different cultures into one house.
Campus Life
Our university take care of our health inside the campus. There is practitioner for us. There is a huge library where we can have any books we want. We also have online resources to various website where we can go and login with our UCD account and we get a full access of the website. I am working as secretary for sports clubs. There is every kind of sports in sports society, there is maths society, social science society, student unions and much more.
Accommodation
I am residing with my sister and brother-in-law. It's more convenient and luckily, it's very close to the campus.
