Dislikes:

  • Nothing apart from the hostel rent as mentioned. paying 1000+ euro for a month becomes too much when you calculate you monthly expense in Ireland. That is only available for 10 months. null

Overview

Good presence and respect in Ireland. Good campus atmosphere and events. Professors are supportive, no negative points as such apart from hostel rentals.

Dislikes:

  • The one thing I don’t like about my college is the student support and the delay in responses that we get from the program coordinators. It’s understandable to expect delay but some of us have gotten delays in responses for weeks. null

Overview

I would define my overall experience as satisfactory. I wasn't too overwhelmed by the experience, as it is exactly what I expected, yet there were some things which were really surreal for me.

Scholarship

I received a scholarship from my college, UCD, of 7,500 euros, which would be waived from my actual fee amount.

Dislikes:

  • One of the major limitations that Indian students would face at the University is the lack of accommodation support. It is nearly impossible to get a place to stay close to the institute as the prices are either way expensive or it is very hard to get a place e.g., for every single room there will be around 30-50 people will be competing. null
  • I believe the university hostel accommodation have to be booked well-advanced (may be like a year or so) but again it is expensive. null

Overview

Again, it is one of the best places around the globe to pursue your studies, regardless of your educational and research background.

Scholarship

My PhD was funded by Irish Research Council, for which I had to write a project proposal.

Dislikes:

  • I don’t particularly dislike anything about my university. If I have to choose with a hard thought, then it will be something like distance from the centre. It’s quite on the outskirts. Also, college fees is on the higher level so it can be reduced. null
