Scholarship
- Yes. There are DaaD scholarships or other financial loans that are available but might be an overkill and most of the costs could be easily covered by doing a part-time job.
- I never applied for scholarships because of the requirements as well as additional effort required. None of my batchmates I know of relied on scholarships. The University has a welcome center and additionally an international students office which provides more information and support to students needing financial assistance.

- My most favourite thing is that we have many research organisations and can do technical part-time jobs rather than doing other services in restaurants, delivery etc.
- The courses offerred are top notch.
- The students (including Germans and other nationalities) are very inclusive and diverse.
Dislikes
- Not much of a night life and party life. (It didnt affect me but i know that a lot of people like this.)
- The city is very small. Convenience isn't the best
- Some courses are very very difficult to pass and is a reason why most people take super long to finish their degree (the longest i have heard is 4.5 years.))

- For CS program specifically you can choose courses depending on your preferred subfields like cyber security, DS/AI, etc.

- I chose this program because of its low tuition cost and high research output in a unique combination of linguistics and Computer Science, not found in many other universities around the world. It should be noted that, although Natural Language Processing is one aspect of the program, there are other aspects likely Psycholinguistics, Language Acquisition etc which you also get to learn about through this program. Such a unique offering of courses is what drew me to this program.
- Many Research Opportunities, Fantastic Faculty, Extremely International cohort, Many Social Events, Good location and so a lot of places to travel to during breaks.
Dislikes
- I don't really dislike anything about the College, as I aware of what I was getting into. Something that people should be wary about is that, knowing German in Germany is extremely important. Although the program is international, a lot of the administrative stuff at the beginning of your program needs to be completed in German. Therefore knowledge of the language would be a massive bonus to anyone joining.
Overview
My overall experience at my university was overwhelmingly positive. The international program provided me with a unique opportunity to immerse myself in different cultures and perspectives, fostering a sense of global citizenship. The research opportunities I was given allowed me to apply my theoretical knowledge to real-world problems, enhancing my critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The approachable and knowledgeable faculty members were always available to provide guidance and support, ensuring my academic success. The vibrant social scene and diverse student cohort offered a plethora of events and activities to unwind and connect with like-minded individuals. And having a central location in Western Europe provided me with the chance to travel extensively at relatively low cost, broadening my horizons and enriching my cultural understanding.

The Tuition fee in Germany is nominal, around 300 Euros per semester. For your living expenses, you can get a Research Assistant job or a Teaching Assistant job.

- My university is public university, meaning there is no tuition fees (just semester fees). The program itself is very interesting and my university is the most popular amongst all the European countries for this program. It gives more emphasis on research and aligns well with my goals.
- I liked the program, the department, the faculty, the options available for research and most importantly the diverse culture because of the international students.
- I have got the chance to be admitted into one of the competitive programs and also the chance to meet people across various parts of the world. Talented and motivated faculty has given me great exposure to the career opportunities available and also at the same time, captured my attention towards the systematic research.
Dislikes
- Saarbruecken is a medium-sized city and this makes it hard to get the jobs easily or even get the industrial exposure so easily. That is the only problem with the university. The rest of the aspects are totally fine by me.

It has been a roller coaster journey for me and as of now I am very satisfied with my life here and happy that I have made the right choice.

- The German infrastructure for research in one of the best, and the lab I went for my postdoc is doing really well interms of research with many impactful publications in flagship journals.
- Infrastructure, facilities, ease of doing work, flexibility in working hours, my friends and colleagues, research supervisor and many more. In general I am acknowledge my Institute for every thing it gave me.
Dislikes
- Weather sometimes, another time excessive work, may be sometimes foods, overall there are very few things to complain about and I am more than happy during my stay in its camous.
Overview
In terms of infrastructure and facilities, the universities I have worked so far are world class having state of art equipments, vibrant campus life and best accommodation facilities. Having a chance to get interact with European culture with many European colleagues has helped me to build and develop a better character and adoptability.
