- Better rankings for the program. More research institutes on campus. The courses offered were aligned with my career interests.

Tips to enhance your application
- The bachelor's grade is essential for admission. The bachelor's curriculum should (loosely) match the curriculum of the bachelor of the university. Work experience can add credibility and improve the chances of getting admitted.
Admission Experience
- Germany, as it has no tuition fees and the possibility of working part-time to support during studies.
- The computer science program is top-ranked. There are plenty of research institutes on campus.
- Saarbrücken is a cheaper city. Closer to Luxembourg and France.
- The studies are a bit intensive. It leans towards research a bit more; however, some of the best courses are by leading professors.
Class Schedule
- It depends on the number of courses you are doing in a semester. For Core courses, you have two classes and one tutorial per week. For advanced courses, you have one class and one tutorial per week. Apart from the lectures, you will also have programming assignments that will span the entire semester.
- The strength of the class depends on its popularity and the challenge of the course. (30-200).
- Health number of Asians (50-60%) - Studies are intensive and require ~3 hours of self-study daily.
Faculty
- Most of the professors are leading researchers in their respective fields. The MPI groups offer some of the courses.
- Anja Feldmann, Andreas Zeller, and Jens Dittrich are some of the best faculty and work hard for their students.
- Most of the professors have research groups and openings for paid student researcher positions.
Campus Life
- There are a lot of sports classes ranging from football to kickboxing and even salsa. Most classes are free, but some may need a minimal fee.
- The campus includes multiple libraries, a national sports complex and a hospital.
- The student committee organises plenty of events throughout the semester (DJ Profs night, where professors are DJing for their students).
Part Time Jobs
- Students, irrespective of nationality, will find research positions under some professor or research institute.
- The pay is ~14 EUR/hour. If you have relevant experience and have done related courses, it is not difficult to find Hiwi positions.
- Usually, job openings can be found on the job bulletin board (online/offline) or outside the offices of the research institutes.
- Students send their CVs and transcripts to apply, and a face-to-face meeting is held to finalise the position and project.
- For Teaching Ass.: You need to have a good grade for the corresponding course
- For Research Ass.: Relevant experience is sufficient—you could find research positions in research institutes like DFKI, MPI, Fraunhofer, etc. on campus.
- The wage is ~14EUR/hour; students can work 20hours per week.
Placement
- No statistics on placements and salaries are known.
- Students usually find jobs on their own through traditional methods like LinkedIn or find one during a job fair on campus.
Accommodation
- Students find accommodation through online websites: WG-gesucht, Immowelt, and Immoscout.
- There are plenty of WhatsApp and Facebook groups. No particular challenges while finding accommodation. When booking accommodation while in India, do not pay any fees and just make a verbal agreement. (This is the norm.)
