Business administration is the scientific examination of the "management" of "companies". “Operation” is a narrower traditional expression for companies. “Economics” means the responsible use of scarce resources. That is, Business administration is fundamentally about examining the handling of resources such as raw materials, goods, personnel and capital in companies as well as developing knowledge and instruments to shape the business activity in all its dimensions in such a way that the input/output Ratio is as optimal as possible.
