Academic year of University of Regensburg is divided into two parts, summer and winter. The duration of winter class is between October 1 and March 31 and summer is April 1 and September 31. University of Regensburg admissions process happens twice per year for summer and winter courses. The University advises the students looking to study in Germany to start with their application process at least prior six months to avoid last-minute rush. University of Regensburg International Student Admissions
University of Regensburg welcomes applications from international students based on the entrance examination scores for certain departments, german language proficiency proof and academic scores in higher secondary education boards. Although domestic and international applicants follow the same steps in the application process, there are few additional requirements in the case of international students.

Basic Admission Requirements:
- School leaving certificate and transcript of grades.
- Copy of passport and VISA
- Curriculum Vitae with detailed academic information and achievements
- Certificate of the University entrance exam, if applicable for the department chosen.
- Declaration of the consent of parents for students under than permissive age
- German language proficiency proof; Each department requires different levels of proficiency. For UG programs, the level of proficiency needed is C1 or higher.
Master programs usually include 2 to 4 semesters and require different norms and requirements to be followed and fulfilled by students. For master's degrees, students have to approach the concerned department directly to initiate their application process and submit the applications.

Visa Requirements for International Students
For non-EU citizens who are applying for admission, first, they would require to get a valid visa to study in Germany. Applicants can find information regarding visa application from either the German Embassy or the German Federal Foreign Office. The documents required for the visa application are:
- Invitation from the German host (University/professor). An acceptance letter from the university will also work.
- Proof of the financial condition of the applicant, whether he/she would be able to survive in Germany or not.
- Birth certificate.
- Passport.
- Biometric photographs.

University of Regensburg Undergraduate Admissions
University of Regensburg offers a large number of UG programs for international students. The university provides similar deadlines and application procedures for domestic undergraduate applicants as well as international applicants. However, for international undergraduate applicants, the university has different admission requirements.

University of Regensburg Graduate Admissions
The applications for postgraduate admission is directly related to the university. International applicants can apply to the university through its online portal. Passing the aptitude test is a prerequisite for many graduation courses along with University entrance exam qualification.
