- The university overall was quite nice. The faculty was great as well.
Dislikes
- The City itself, Chemnitz, is quite terrible, fluent German is a must for socializing here unless you want to be stuck with people only speaking your mother tongue or English. There's not a lot of activities to do in Chemnitz, it's a dull and underdeveloped city. A huge drawback for choosing to study here. I'd would personally keep it as my last backup.
- However, regarding my course, it felt too theoretical at times. Too much memorization. I would have personally preferred to work or learn actual skills needed to thrive in Industry, PhD, such as working in a lab with actual instruments, etc. instead of memorizing paragraphs for exams.
- Yes, many online platforms are available. It is extremely easy to find accommodations in Chemnitz. They are quite cheap as well. 200-300 Euros per month. The University has a portal to find accommodation on the campus, and outside of campus you have immoscout.de, wggesucht.de, etc. to find private accommodation. There are student whatsapp groups as well where you can find these things.
