  • Social science deals with social issues and problems of human coexistence, starting with the smallest unit of relationships and organizations to complex (rule) systems.
  • The course combines political science and sociology with different weightings in two selectable focus variants. The core program of the major in political science includes the areas of political theory, state and domestic politics, international politics, comparative political science and European governance.
  • The core program in Major Sociology is divided into the areas of sociological theories, microsocial structures, macrosocial structures, economic and organizational sociology and (further) special sociologies.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Following are the requirements for this program:

  • To start studying, students need a sufficient university entrance qualification.
  • In principle, proof can be provided by both school and vocational training.
  • With regard to school-based university entrance qualifications, a distinction is made between the general higher education entrance qualification, which entitles to study in all courses at a university ( e.g. Abitur), and a subject-related higher education entrance qualification, which enables subject-related study.
