Course Curriculum
- The course is highly theoretical as it is a Technical university and not a Hochschule
- The lack of practical classes can be a negative aspect
- The classes frequency is highly dependent on number of subject you register in a semester. For a recommended 5 subjects per semester 3-4 classes can be scheduled in a day. Each class lasts 90 mins.
- Number of students in a class depends on the course's popularity. Some classes have more than 150 students while some less than 40.
Admission Experience
- I applied to 3 Universities.
- I received confirmed admission from Universität Hamburg and Universität Stuttgart.
- I got a wait listed for Universität Heidelberg and I am still waiting for a response from them :)
- In case of Universität Heidelberg maybe I have less credits in Theoretical computer science subject which could be the reason for wait listing.
- The University is part of prestigious TU9 group with Industrial areas nearby.
- The application deadline is quite early as compared to other Universities. You need to apply on the college Campus portal
- IELTS(6 band) and GRE(Not compulsory but recommended)
- The application deadline being too early is the only challenge that I faced. Other than it is a straightforward standard process.
- I applied for 2024-25 Winter Semester Intake
- The admission process take at least 2-3 months starting from application
- Application takes less than 1 day, also there is no application fee required.
- The application is checked for technical feasibility where bachelors credits are checked.
- The Bachelors course should be relevant with the applied Master's course
- The acceptance or rejection is communicated by the end of 2 moths
Faculty
- Faculty to students is not known to me. The quality of education is pretty good with the Faculty being PHD holders in their respective fields.
- Most professors use Digital slides for teaching, while some use traditional blackboards to teach.
- No professors don't help in finding part time or full time jobs but teaching assistant jobs are available every now and then which can be applied through university portal
Campus Life
- There are two campuses my University have.

2. Universität Stuttgart: https://maps.app.goo.gl/D2j2E4i6fZUjub76A - Gym, Running tracks, Calisthenics gymnasium, Basketball and badminton court, Swimming pools, Libraries, Canteens, Police station and Medical services are available in campus.
- Bollywood night is a major attraction amongst Indian students.
- Many sport activities are available where one can start learning with a coach from absolute beginner level. One can join one of many Musical bands. Every department have their student organization which can be good for networking.
Part Time Jobs
- Quite a less students secure Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA), or Departmental Assistant (DA) positions as they are very limited.
- The pay range depends on the faculty offering the position. Typically one can expect anywhere between 12-13 Euros per hour rate.
- There are various research institutions situated on campus, research assistant positions are easy to get their.
- Maximum 20 hours a week is allowed.
- Considering competition it is hard to get Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA), or Departmental Assistant (DA) positions
- Working student jobs are preferred by most of the Indian students. If one frequently apply to companies while rectifying their previous mistakes it is quite easy to get a part-time jobs. Students also do part time warehouses and delivery jobs which are easy to get. Searching for jobs on Linkedin, Stepstone, Job application, In person interview are steps to be followed.
Placement
- Almost all of them get job somewhere in Europe.
- Somewhere between 50-70k euros can be expected average salary range that most students in my program earn upon graduation
- Student need to apply through Linkedin, Stellenwerk and other job portals.
- Most of my seniors are placed in a Tech company on software engineer, R&D engineer roles.
- Mercedes, Bosch, Porsche are some the major companies that hire graduates from my program
Accommodation
- I have opted for On-campus accommodation.
- I have found my accommodation through the student union and various available Whatsapp groups.
- Long wait list is a challenge that I encountered. Due to which I rented a sublet for first 2 month of my stay.
- As soon as you get university acceptance, start applying for student accommodation without waiting for your Visa will be my recommendation to prospective students .
- Being On-campus accommodation it takes me less than 10 mins on foot to reach my classes from my accommodation.
Exams
- IELTS is required exam while GRE is a recommended exam.
- APS and CV are required documents. While SOP, LOR and Experience letter are some of the recommended documents.
- No generally interview is not a part of the admission process. But in case of credits mismatch a interview can be scheduled to understand what the bachelors subject was about and to know if student has basic understanding of the subject
Fees
- The total cost of fees was 1684 euros.
- The fees are charged on a semester basis.
- Monthly costs in total: 970–1000 euros
- The cost of health insurance is 144 euros.
- The price of a ticket to Germany is 59 euros.
- The cost of rent is 400 euros.
- Cost of groceries: between 80 and 90 euros
- Radio tax is 18 euros per month
- Miscellaneous expenses: 15 to 20 euros
Scholarship
- No, I haven't received any scholarship till now.
- One of my batch mate got Femtech scholarship which doesn't provide any financial aid rather career guidance.
- The Femtech scholarship is a scholarship provided for females in technology.
- I am not sure of total number of students receiving the scholarship as there are many scholarships available, some based on nationality, some are based on field of study.
