What Students Say?

- The course subjects were really good and it aligned with my interests.
- The course structure of university is really great. It gives you flexibility of choosing courses and you can choose from upto 150 courses. ,The professors in the university are experts in their fields and the course content is completely designed by them. Which is the reason why the course content is very recent and relevant to current times.
Dislikes
- The course and the subjects in general a re quite hard. Students on an average take up to three years to complete the courses.
- Although with repetitive feedback from our and older batches the course structure and credit requirements have been changed which seems to have reduced the average duration a little bit
The overall experience is quite good. Lots to learn. It is very hard and if you are persistent in your efforts you will get it done.
Course Curriculum
The courses are quite good and comprise of most basics to understand ongoing current research and basics for industry. Since it is a Technical university and not a university of applied sciences
Exams
At the time of my admission, no additional requirements like German level or GRE. It only required IELTS 6.5 because my course was in English. There was no Interview process, all standard documents related to ID and marksheets and education mentioned in CV. I also had to submit all of the above CV, SOP and LORs. I would say SOP is very important do include your research areas and how the align with some of the research works being done in the some lab of the university and professor that you like.
Placement
The median salary would be around 58k. There are a lot of opportunities but are difficult to get. Knowing German drastically improve your chances Universities in Germany in general do not offer placement like in India. You have to apply to companies on your own. There are some job fairs where students can get in touch with companies in that job fair and network and enquire about open positions etc.
Internship
I did my internship at University of Karlsruhe in a research lab. The research was in the field of AI particularly Active learning for biomedical data. I was paid 450 euros per month. The duration was 3 months
Fees
1500 euros per semester, so total of 9000 if you finish in 3 years.
Faculty
Some of the esteemed faculties that are renowned scientists in there field are professors like Prof. Wolfram burgard, Prof Thimas Brox, Prof. Moritz Diehl in Uni Freiburg.
Campus Life
The campus infrastructure is quite good. The University library is quite fancy and at the center of the city. A lot of people go to the library to study but most things are available online and people do not generally use books that much in my field. The city is lively in general so you can find extracurricular activities that do not have to be part of the university as well.
Hostel
Getting a accommodation is challenging, however some preference is given to new incoming students for dorms but later on you need to find accommodation in the city on your own which is difficult to get.
