VSAT 2026 (Vignan Scholastic Aptitude Test) is conducted by Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (VFSTR), a Deemed-to-be University located in Vadlamudi, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The exam serves as the primary scholarship-cum-admission test for B.Tech, B.Pharm, Pharm.D, and B.Sc (Hons.) programmes at Vignan University. The VSAT 2026 result was declared on April 18, 2026, with 61,000 candidates having appeared and 42,000 qualifying — and counselling is now actively underway for the 2026–27 academic session.

• Counselling: VSAT 2026 counselling is ongoing from May 10 to approximately June 5, 2026. Qualified candidates must attend in person at the Vadlamudi campus, Guntur. Last year (2025), counselling was held in the third week of August after a later exam cycle.
• Seat Allotment: Seat allotment is done during counselling rounds on merit-cum-preference basis. Candidates must bring original documents and pay the Rs. 20,000 non-refundable seat confirmation fee at the time of allotment.
• Scholarship: VSAT 2026 offers a total scholarship pool of Rs. 16 crore. Rank 1–50 holders get a 50%–75% tuition fee waiver; Rank 51–200 get 25%–50%; and Rank 201–2,000 get a 10%–25% waiver — applied for all four years subject to maintaining a 7.0 CGPA.

What is VSAT 2026?

VSAT stands for Vignan Scholastic Aptitude Test. It is a university-level entrance exam conducted by Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (VFSTR), commonly known as Vignan University, a Deemed-to-be University recognised under UGC Section 12(B). The university is located at Vadlamudi, Guntur — 522213, Andhra Pradesh.

VSAT 2026 is a scholarship-cum-admission test. It gives you entry into various undergraduate programmes at Vignan University and associated Vignan group campuses. The exam also decides how much scholarship you get on your tuition fee — making it a financially important test for students from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and other states.

VSAT is a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The exam has 120 multiple-choice questions covering Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, and English with Aptitude. It is held in a rolling window format — candidates can pick their slot across multiple dates within the exam window rather than appearing on a single fixed date.

In 2026, more than 61,000 candidates appeared for VSAT and around 42,000 qualified for admission consideration. The exam accepts students into programmes like B.Tech (17+ specialisations), B.Pharmacy, Pharm.D, and B.Sc (Hons.) in Agriculture, Biotechnology, and related fields.

VSAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for VSAT, you should check whether you meet all the eligibility requirements. Here are the conditions set by Vignan University for VSAT 2026.

Nationality

Only Indian citizens can apply for VSAT 2026. There is a separate international admissions process for foreign nationals at Vignan University.

Age Limit

You must have been born on or after July 1, 2006. This means you should not be older than 20 years as of July 1, 2026.

Educational Qualification

You must have passed or be appearing in the Class 12 / Intermediate examination (or equivalent) from any recognised Board. You need a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

• For B.Tech, B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture and related programmes: You must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) in Class 12.
• For B.Pharmacy, Pharm.D, B.Tech Biotechnology, B.Sc (Hons.) Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Food Technology: You must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in Class 12.

Candidates who are still awaiting their Class 12 results can also apply for VSAT on a provisional basis. Their admission will be confirmed only after they pass with the required marks.

Note: Candidates who do not secure at least 60% marks in their qualifying examination will not be eligible for VSAT admission, even if they have a valid VSAT rank.

VSAT 2026 Application Process

How to Apply for VSAT

You can apply for VSAT online through the official admissions portal. Here is the step-by-step process:

• Step 1 — Visit the official portal: Go to admissions.vignan.ac.in and click on the VSAT registration link.
• Step 2 — Register with basic details: Enter your name, mobile number, and email address. You will get an OTP to verify your mobile number.
• Step 3 — Fill the application form: Enter personal details, academic details (Class 10 and 12 marks/board), choose your preferred exam slot and centre.
• Step 4 — Upload documents: Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size photograph and signature. Both should meet the specified size and format guidelines.
• Step 5 — Pay the application fee: Pay Rs. 1,200 online using net banking, credit/debit card, or UPI. You can also submit a Demand Draft in favour of "Vignan University" payable at Guntur.
• Step 6 — Download the confirmation: After payment, save and print the application confirmation. Your Hall Ticket Number is the same as your Application Number.

Offline Application Option

Offline application forms are also available at select Indian Bank branches in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (Guntur, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Eluru, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Ongole) and at Vignan University offices. You need to fill and send the completed form with a Demand Draft of Rs. 1,200 to the Admissions Office.

How to Download the VSAT Admit Card

For future reference and upcoming cycles, here is how you download the VSAT admit card:

• Visit the official admissions portal at admissions.vignan.ac.in
• Click on the "Download Hall Ticket" or "Admit Card" link

Scholarship Continuation Conditions

• You must maintain a minimum CGPA of 7.0 (70%) at the end of each academic year
• You must have no backlogs (no pending subjects) from the previous year
• The scholarship is applied to tuition fees only — hostel, mess, and other fees are separate
• The scholarship is renewed every year based on your academic performance in the preceding year

The scholarship is not automatic — you need to maintain your academic performance every year. A CGPA below 7.0 or a backlog in any subject can make you lose the scholarship for that year.

VSAT 2026 Preparation Tips

Since VSAT 2026 has already been conducted, this section is most useful for students who plan to appear in VSAT 2027 or for those who want to understand what the exam demands. The preparation strategy for VSAT is similar to JEE Main, with a stronger focus on NCERT fundamentals.

Physics Preparation

• Focus on NCERT Class 11 and 12 Physics textbooks first. Most VSAT Physics questions are NCERT-based.
• Pay extra attention to Mechanics, Optics, Electrostatics, and Modern Physics — these usually carry the most questions.
• Solve numerical problems daily. Even though VSAT has no derivation-type questions, numerical MCQs are common.
• Practice formula-based questions from DC Pandey or HC Verma’s concept-level chapters.

Chemistry Preparation

• Organic Chemistry is the most scoring section. Learn reaction mechanisms and named reactions from NCERT carefully.
• For Physical Chemistry, focus on Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, and Solutions.
• Inorganic Chemistry — especially p-Block, d-Block, and Coordination Compounds — needs regular revision through charts and tables.
• Read NCERT Class 11 and 12 Chemistry thoroughly. Many VSAT Chemistry questions are direct NCERT lines.

Mathematics Preparation

• Calculus (Limits, Derivatives, Integrals, Differential Equations) usually accounts for 30–35% of Maths questions. Prioritise this.
• Coordinate Geometry — Straight Lines, Circles, Conics — is another high-weightage area.
• Practice Algebra thoroughly: Complex Numbers, Matrices, Determinants, Probability.
• Attempt mock tests and previous year JEE Main papers to build speed — VSAT Maths requires fast calculation.

Biology Preparation (PCB Stream)

• Read NCERT Biology Class 11 and 12 chapters word by word. Most Biology MCQs in VSAT are directly from NCERT text.
• Focus on Genetics, Human Physiology, Plant Physiology, Biotechnology, and Ecology — these are high-weightage chapters.
• Make notes on diagrams and flowcharts. Labelling and identifying diagrams from NCERT is common in MCQ format.
• Revise animal and plant kingdom classification regularly — rote memory topics need repeated revision.

English & Aptitude Preparation

• This section is the most scoring for many students. A good score here can significantly boost your overall rank.
• For English, focus on Vocabulary (synonyms, antonyms, one-word substitution) and Grammar (error detection, sentence improvement).
• For Aptitude, practise basic Maths topics: percentages, time-speed-distance, ratios, profit-loss.
• Logical Reasoning (series, blood relations, directions) needs around 20–30 minutes of daily practice.

General Tips

• Since VSAT has no negative marking, attempt all 120 questions. Never leave a question unanswered.
• Aim to finish the paper in 100 minutes and use the remaining 20 minutes for revision.
• Take at least 5–6 full-length mock tests in CBT mode before appearing for VSAT.
• For students who also want JEE Main scores accepted, preparing for JEE Main simultaneously is the most efficient strategy — the syllabi overlap almost entirely.
