What is UPESEAT 2026?

UPESEAT stands for University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test. It is a university-level online entrance exam conducted by UPES Dehradun for admission to four-year B.Tech programmes. UPES is a NAAC A+ accredited private deemed university in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, with two campuses — Energy Acres (Bidholi) and Knowledge Acres (Kandoli). It was established under the UPES Act 2003 of the Government of Uttarakhand.

UPESEAT scores are accepted only by UPES for its own B.Tech admissions. The exam is remote-proctored, so you can appear from home using a laptop or desktop with a webcam. UPES conducts the exam in multiple phases each year, giving students more than one opportunity to appear and use their best score across phases.

UPES offers more than 30 B.Tech specialisations through three schools — the School of Computer Science, the School of Advanced Engineering, and the School of Health Sciences and Technology. UPESEAT 2026 was held in four phases. As of June 22, 2026, all four exam phases are over. The Phase 4 result and the formal counselling process remain upcoming. The table below shows upcoming events first (in order), followed by past events in chronological order.

UPESEAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

You must meet the UPESEAT 2026 eligibility criteria before applying. UPES has different academic requirements for different B.Tech programmes. Check the specific criteria for your chosen specialisation carefully before you submit the form.

Nationality and Age

UPESEAT 2026 is open to Indian nationals, NRI candidates, and international students. You must have been born on or after October 1, 2001 to be eligible. There is no upper age limit for UPESEAT 2026.

Academic Eligibility

If you are currently appearing in Class 12 in 2026, you can still apply. You must submit your final board marksheet at the time of document verification during counselling and score at least the minimum required percentage to confirm your seat.

A strong UPESEAT rank alone does not guarantee admission. If your Class X, XII, or PCM aggregate is below the required minimum, you will not be eligible for that programme even with a top rank.

Subject Requirement

You must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects in Class XII for all B.Tech engineering programmes at UPES. Students from a Commerce or Arts background are not eligible. For Health Sciences B.Tech programmes (Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology), Biology may be accepted in place of Mathematics — check the specific programme requirement on the official UPES website.

UPESEAT 2026 applications were accepted phase-wise throughout the year, with Phase 4 closing on June 15, 2026. UPESEAT applications are now closed for all phases in the 2026 cycle. • Fill in your personal and academic details in the online application form
• Upload a recent passport-size photograph and your Class X and XII marksheets or appearing certificate
• Select your preferred exam phase and book a slot after fee payment
• Pay the application fee of INR 1,750 online via net banking, credit card, or debit card
• Download your admit card from the portal or check your registered email for the test link and login credentials
