  • Non-Local Student: A student who does not have study continuity from Class 4 to 10 in the local area. Such students are eligible only for the 15% unreserved (open) seats.

  • Log in using your Login ID received after certificate verification
  • Enter college-branch combinations in your preferred order of priority. Place your absolute first choice at Option 1
  • You can enter options at any internet centre, TS Online centre, or from any HLC, or from home
  • Review your options carefully before freezing. Check your college preferences against the previous year's closing ranks
  • Click "Freeze" only when you are completely sure about your choices. Do not freeze before the last day of the option window

TS POLYCET Counselling 2026 FAQs

Ques. When does TS POLYCET 2026 counselling start?

Ans. The TS POLYCET 2026 Phase 1 counselling starts on May 21, 2026 with online registration, processing fee payment, and slot booking at tgpolycet.nic.in. Certificate verification begins May 29, and the Phase 1 seat allotment result is expected on or before June 6, 2026. Phase 2 is expected from June 15, 2026.

Ques. What is the ICR Number and where can I find it?

Ans. ICR stands for Integrated Candidate Registration. Your ICR Number is printed on your TS POLYCET 2026 Hall Ticket. You need this number to log in and pay the processing fee for counselling registration. Keep multiple copies of your hall ticket — physical and digital — throughout the admission process.

Ques. Can I participate in Phase 2 if I was not allotted a seat in Phase 1?

Ans. Yes. If you registered in Phase 1 but were not allotted a seat, you can participate in Phase 2 counselling directly (registration is already done). However, if you did not register in Phase 1 at all, you need to go through the full registration process in Phase 2 — pay the fee, book a slot, attend certificate verification, and then enter web options.

Ques. What is the Centralised Internal Sliding process?

Ans. The Centralised Internal Sliding process (expected in July 2026) is a mechanism where students already admitted through Phase 1 or Phase 2 may be automatically upgraded to a higher-preference option within the same or a different college, based on vacancies after all main allotment rounds. No separate application is needed — the upgrade happens automatically based on your original web options.

Ques. What are Spot Admissions in TS POLYCET?

Ans. Spot Admissions are conducted in August 2026 for seats that remain vacant after Phase 1 and Phase 2 counselling rounds. These are physical, on-the-spot admissions conducted at designated centres. Students who did not get allotment in Phase 1 or Phase 2, or who missed the main counselling, can try here. By this stage, most Government Polytechnic seats are usually taken; mostly, private college seats are available.

Ques. Can a student from outside Telangana apply for TS POLYCET counselling?

Ans. Yes. Students from outside Telangana (including Andhra Pradesh and other states) can apply for TS POLYCET counselling. However, they are treated as Non-Local students and are eligible only for the 15% unreserved (open) seats. They are not eligible for the 85% local area reserved seats. Such students need to submit the appropriate non-local candidature certificates during verification.

Ques. Is there negative marking in TS POLYCET 2026?

Ans. No. TS POLYCET 2026 has no negative marking. Each correct answer carries +1 mark, and wrong or unattempted questions carry 0 marks. The total marks are 120 (for the MPC group). The qualifying mark is 36 (30%) for OC/BC/EWS students, and 1 mark for SC/ST students. Your rank in the merit list is based solely on marks scored in the entrance exam.
