In Assam Board Class 10, each subject carries a total of 100 marks. There are a total of 6 subjects in SEBA Class 10 including Science, Mathematics, Social Science, two language subjects, and an elective subject.
Students can choose any subject from a list of subjects under first language and elective subject. However, if a student chooses one MIL Language subject including Group C of MIL (only for Assamese, Bengali, and Hindi MIL) as the first language, then he/she cannot choose the same language as an elective subject.
While choosing an elective subject, if a student wishes to opt for a subject having a practical component and the subject is not introduced in the school, then he/she has to take permission from the board.
