What is RMCAAP 2026?

RMCAAP 2026 stands for the Rajasthan Master in Computer Applications Admission Process 2026. The Centre for Electronic Governance (CEG), Jaipur conducts this centralised counselling on behalf of the Department of Technical Education, Government of Rajasthan. You should know that RMCAAP is not a written entrance test anymore. It is a merit based admission and seat allotment process for MCA first year seats.

This year, the process falls under CAP 2026, the wider Centralised Admission Process that also covers REAP for B.Tech and B.Arch and RMAP for MBA admissions. • You must have passed any graduation degree such as B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc, B.Com, B.A., B.Voc or BCA.
• You should preferably have Mathematics at the 10+2 level or at the graduation level.
• You need at least 50% marks in your qualifying exam. This drops to 45% for SC, ST, non-creamy layer OBC, non-creamy layer MBC and PwD students.
• There is no age limit for RMCAAP 2026, since AICTE does not prescribe one.
• If you do not have a Mathematics background, your institute will offer a compulsory bridge course in your first year.

This makes RMCAAP 2026 open to a wide pool of graduates, not just Computer Science students. So if you hold a BCA or B.Sc IT degree, you remain eligible along with B.Tech and B.A. graduates who meet the marks criteria.

RMCAAP 2026 vs RMCAAT and NIMCET: What Has Changed

You may have heard of RMCAAT, the earlier Rajasthan Master of Computer Application Admission Test. RMCAAT was a separate written entrance exam. From 2022 onwards, NIMCET scores began to count for Rajasthan Technical University MCA seats, and RMCAAP absorbed the counselling function.

• Students under the sports quota get first priority.
• Students with a valid latest NIMCET score and Rajasthan domicile come next.
• Students with a valid NIMCET score but no Rajasthan domicile follow.
• Students who passed with Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level, with Rajasthan domicile, come after that.
• The same group without Rajasthan domicile follows next.
• Graduates with Rajasthan domicile but no Mathematics background come next.
• Graduates without Rajasthan domicile and no Mathematics background hold the last priority.

So even if you do not have a NIMCET score, you can still register for RMCAAP 2026 and get considered on the basis of your graduation merit, once higher priority categories are exhausted.

RMCAAP 2026 Application Form: How to Register

The RMCAAP 2026 application cum registration process runs fully online. You should fix your mobile number and email ID before you begin, since all RMCAAP 2026 communication happens through OTP on these two contacts. There is no postal communication in this process.

1. Pay the application cum registration fee of Rs. 885 online.
2. Your application form becomes active only after this payment is successful.
3. Fill in the online application cum registration form and upload your photograph, signature and mark sheets.
4. Complete the College Choice form, listing as many institute and course preferences as you want.
5. Review your entries and press the Submit or Lock button.
6. You will get a confirmation email and SMS once your form is submitted.
7. Take a printout for your records, though you do not need to send it to the RMCAAP office.

Once you submit the application form, you cannot edit it further. Locked choices can still be unlocked for a fee of Rs. 50 plus GST before the last date.

Duplicate or multiple registrations are not permitted in RMCAAP 2026, so use only one form number throughout the process.

RMCAAP 2026 Application Fee

The RMCAAP 2026 application cum registration fee is Rs. 885, which includes Rs. 750 as the base fee and 18% GST. You pay this fee for each mode of counselling you register under.

This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable once your registration is done. If your payment goes through but your form submission fails because of a technical glitch, you can claim a refund through a bank chargeback.

RMCAAP 2026 Merit List and Rank Priority

Your RMCAAP 2026 merit depends mainly on your final graduation percentage. If two students end up with the same percentage, the student with a higher age gets the higher rank. If ages also match, the student who applied earlier gets preference.

• The tentative merit list for all categories comes out on 11 July 2026.
• You get until 15 July 2026 to raise an online objection if you find an error in your entry.
• The final merit list is published on 16 July 2026.

You should check your name, category and percentage carefully in the tentative list, since corrections after the final list are not entertained in the same round.

RMCAAP 2026 Choice Filling and Locking

Choice filling for RMCAAP 2026 started on 23 June 2026, right alongside registration. You can add as many institute and course choices as you want, and you can keep changing the order until you lock the list.

• Arrange your choices from the most preferred institute to the least preferred one.
• You can revise your choice order any number of times before locking.
• The last date to fill and lock your choices is 18 July 2026.
• Once locked, you need to pay Rs. 50 plus GST per request to unlock and edit again, before the final deadline.

Lock only after you are fully satisfied with your choice order, since the seat allotment software follows your locked list exactly.

RMCAAP 2026 Counselling Rounds and Seat Allotment Schedule

RMCAAP 2026 runs its seat allotment in a mix of centralised and institute level rounds. You should track your round carefully, as reporting deadlines are strict.

You can view your allotted college seat through the Allotment and Reporting link on your student panel. After you download your allotment letter, you must complete online reporting and pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 10,000 to confirm your seat.

RMCAAP 2026 Seat Matrix, Reservation and Quota

RMCAAP 2026 seats follow the Rajasthan government reservation policy across autonomous colleges, government universities and private technical institutes.

Within the ST quota, 45% of seats go to Tribal Sub Plan students from notified TSP areas. On top of these vertical categories, RMCAAP 2026 applies horizontal reservation of 30% for women within their own category, 5% for PwD students and 3% for dependents of Ex-Servicemen.

RMCAAP 2026 also carries supernumerary seats. Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri migrant families get an additional 5% over the approved intake. TFWS covers up to 5% of approved intake for families with annual income under Rs. 8 lakh. RMCAAP 2026 Exam Pattern: How Merit Is Different from a Written Test

Unlike JEE Main or CAT, RMCAAP 2026 itself does not involve a written exam. Your rank comes from your qualifying graduation percentage, unless you hold a valid NIMCET score, in which case your NIMCET rank takes priority over the plain merit route. This makes RMCAAP 2026 more like a merit based counselling process than a competitive entrance test.
