What is RMCAAP 2026?

RMCAAP 2026 stands for the Rajasthan Master in Computer Applications Admission Process 2026. The Centre for Electronic Governance (CEG), Jaipur conducts this centralised counselling on behalf of the Department of Technical Education, Government of Rajasthan. You should know that RMCAAP is not a written entrance test anymore. It is a merit based admission and seat allotment process for MCA first year seats.

This year, the process falls under CAP 2026, the wider Centralised Admission Process that also covers REAP for B.Tech and B.Arch and RMAP for MBA admissions. The RMCAAP 2026 counselling covers government, government aided and private technical institutes affiliated to Rajasthan universities. Students with a valid NIMCET score get priority, but a NIMCET score is not compulsory. You can also apply on the basis of your graduation percentage.

RMCAAP 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Before you register, check the RMCAAP 2026 eligibility criteria carefully. RMCAAP 2026 will not take responsibility for any loss caused by wrong information given by you.

  • You must have passed any graduation degree such as B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc, B.Com, B.A., B.Voc or BCA.
  • You should preferably have Mathematics at the 10+2 level or at the graduation level.
  • You need at least 50% marks in your qualifying exam. This drops to 45% for SC, ST, non-creamy layer OBC, non-creamy layer MBC and PwD students.
  • There is no age limit for RMCAAP 2026, since AICTE does not prescribe one.
  • If you do not have a Mathematics background, your institute will offer a compulsory bridge course in your first year.

This makes RMCAAP 2026 open to a wide pool of graduates, not just Computer Science students. So if you hold a BCA or B.Sc IT degree, you remain eligible along with B.Tech and B.A. graduates who meet the marks criteria.

RMCAAP 2026 vs RMCAAT and NIMCET: What Has Changed

You may have heard of RMCAAT, the earlier Rajasthan Master of Computer Application Admission Test. RMCAAT was a separate written entrance exam. From 2022 onwards, NIMCET scores began to count for Rajasthan Technical University MCA seats, and RMCAAP absorbed the counselling function.

For RMCAAP 2026, the priority order for admission is set as follows.

  • Students under the sports quota get first priority.
  • Students with a valid latest NIMCET score and Rajasthan domicile come next.
  • Students with a valid NIMCET score but no Rajasthan domicile follow.
  • Students who passed with Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level, with Rajasthan domicile, come after that.
  • The same group without Rajasthan domicile follows next.
  • Graduates with Rajasthan domicile but no Mathematics background come next.
  • Graduates without Rajasthan domicile and no Mathematics background hold the last priority.

So even if you do not have a NIMCET score, you can still register for RMCAAP 2026 and get considered on the basis of your graduation merit, once higher priority categories are exhausted.

RMCAAP 2026 Application Form: How to Register

The RMCAAP 2026 application cum registration process runs fully online. You should fix your mobile number and email ID before you begin, since all RMCAAP 2026 communication happens through OTP on these two contacts. There is no postal communication in this process.

  1. Pay the application cum registration fee of Rs. 885 online.
  2. Your application form becomes active only after this payment is successful.
  3. Fill in the online application cum registration form and upload your photograph, signature and mark sheets.
  4. Complete the College Choice form, listing as many institute and course preferences as you want.
  5. Review your entries and press the Submit or Lock button.
  6. You will get a confirmation email and SMS once your form is submitted.
  7. Take a printout for your records, though you do not need to send it to the RMCAAP office.

Once you submit the application form, you cannot edit it further. Locked choices can still be unlocked for a fee of Rs. 50 plus GST before the last date.

Duplicate or multiple registrations are not permitted in RMCAAP 2026, so use only one form number throughout the process.

RMCAAP 2026 Application Fee

The RMCAAP 2026 application cum registration fee is Rs. 885, which includes Rs. 750 as the base fee and 18% GST. You pay this fee for each mode of counselling you register under.

Fee Head Amount
Application cum registration fee (base) Rs. 750
GST (18%) Rs. 135
Total application fee Rs. 885
Choice unlock charge (per request) Rs. 50 + 18% GST
Seat acceptance fee (at allotment) Rs. 10,000

This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable once your registration is done. If your payment goes through but your form submission fails because of a technical glitch, you can claim a refund through a bank chargeback.

RMCAAP 2026 Merit List and Rank Priority

Your RMCAAP 2026 merit depends mainly on your final graduation percentage. If two students end up with the same percentage, the student with a higher age gets the higher rank. If ages also match, the student who applied earlier gets preference.

  • The tentative merit list for all categories comes out on 11 July 2026.
  • You get until 15 July 2026 to raise an online objection if you find an error in your entry.
  • The final merit list is published on 16 July 2026.

You should check your name, category and percentage carefully in the tentative list, since corrections after the final list are not entertained in the same round.

RMCAAP 2026 Choice Filling and Locking

Choice filling for RMCAAP 2026 started on 23 June 2026, right alongside registration. You can add as many institute and course choices as you want, and you can keep changing the order until you lock the list.

  • Arrange your choices from the most preferred institute to the least preferred one.
  • You can revise your choice order any number of times before locking.
  • The last date to fill and lock your choices is 18 July 2026.

Lock only after you are fully satisfied with your choice order, since the seat allotment software follows your locked list exactly.

RMCAAP 2026 Seat Matrix, Reservation and Quota

RMCAAP 2026 seats follow the Rajasthan government reservation policy across autonomous colleges, government universities and private technical institutes.

Category Reservation
SC 16%
ST 12%
Non-creamy layer OBC 21%
EWS 10%
Non-creamy layer MBC 5%

Within the ST quota, 45% of seats go to Tribal Sub Plan students from notified TSP areas. On top of these vertical categories, RMCAAP 2026 applies horizontal reservation of 30% for women within their own category, 5% for PwD students and 3% for dependents of Ex-Servicemen.

RMCAAP 2026 also carries supernumerary seats. Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri migrant families get an additional 5% over the approved intake. TFWS covers up to 5% of approved intake for families with annual income under Rs. 8 lakh. Foreign Nationals, OCI students and children of Indian workers in Gulf countries get 15% supernumerary seats, with one-third reserved for children of Gulf workers. Private institutes can also fill 15% of their approved intake under the management quota.

RMCAAP 2026 Documents Required for Reporting

You must carry original documents at the time of physical reporting to your finally allotted institute. Keep both originals and self-attested photocopies ready.

  • Printout of your provisional final seat allotment letter with a recent colour photograph pasted on it.
  • Aadhaar card or Aadhaar acknowledgement receipt.
  • Class 10 mark sheet as proof of date of birth.
  • Class 12 mark sheet.
  • Bachelor degree mark sheet of minimum 3 years duration.
  • Category certificate for SC, ST, OBC, MBC, EWS or TSP, if applicable.

  • Ex-Servicemen certificate, if applicable.
  • Domicile certificate, if applicable.
  • Income certificate for financial year 2025-26, if applicable.
  • Medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format.

You must submit all original documents at your final reporting institute. Failing this, your admission gets cancelled and your seat is treated as vacant.

RMCAAP 2026 Participating Colleges

RMCAAP 2026 covers government, government aided and private engineering and technical institutes across Rajasthan that offer MCA. Universities such as Rajasthan Technical University and Government Engineering Colleges in Ajmer, Jodhpur and Kota, along with private universities in Jaipur, Kota and Udaipur, take students through this counselling. You can view the exact seat matrix for each institute on the RMCAAP portal once universities finish uploading it during the registration window.

Rajasthan has more than 90 institutes offering MCA, and a large share of these seats get filled through RMCAAP 2026 every year. Government colleges usually charge a lower annual fee, close to Rs. 17,700 to Rs. 20,000 for the first year, while private institutes charge more depending on their placement record and infrastructure. You should compare the seat intake, faculty strength and past placement data of each institute before you set your choice order, since a lower ranked choice can still turn out to be a better fit for your budget and career goals.

Check the MCA colleges in Rajasthan page for course fees, rankings and placement details before you finalise your choice order.

RMCAAP 2026 Exam Pattern: How Merit Is Different from a Written Test

Unlike JEE Main or CAT, RMCAAP 2026 itself does not involve a written exam. Your rank comes from your qualifying graduation percentage, unless you hold a valid NIMCET score, in which case your NIMCET rank takes priority over the plain merit route. This makes RMCAAP 2026 more like a merit based counselling process than a competitive entrance test.

If you want a seat through the highest priority route, you should appear for NIMCET, the national level MCA entrance test conducted by the NITs on a rotational basis. NIMCET has 120 objective questions across Mathematics, Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness and General English, with negative marking for wrong answers. A good NIMCET score gives you an edge in RMCAAP 2026, since NIMCET qualified students with Rajasthan domicile sit above the plain merit list in the priority order.

If you do not appear for NIMCET, your final graduation percentage becomes your only ranking factor. So you should focus on scoring well in your final year, since even a difference of one or two percentage points can shift your rank and change which institute you get allotted.

RMCAAP 2026 Preparation Tips for the Counselling Process

Since RMCAAP 2026 is a counselling driven process, your preparation should focus on paperwork and strategy rather than subject revision.

  • Keep scanned copies of your photograph, signature and all mark sheets ready in the exact file size and format asked for on the portal.
  • Research your target institutes in advance, so your choice list reflects your real priorities and not last minute guesses.
  • Track your category reservation benefits carefully, since a missing or expired certificate can push you down the priority list.
  • Set reminders for every date in the RMCAAP 2026 schedule, especially the merit list objection window and the reporting deadlines.
  • Keep your registered mobile number and email ID active throughout the process, since all updates come only through these channels.

You should also read the RMCAAP 2026 Information Booklet in full at least once, since it explains the reservation rules, quota structure and reporting steps in detail.

RMCAAP 2026 Online Reporting Process

RMCAAP 2026 uses a fully online reporting system. After your seat gets allotted, log in to your student panel and download the allotment letter. Then start the online reporting process and pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 10,000 through the portal.

  • Upload your seat acceptance fee receipt, allotment letter and signed document checklist.
  • Your reporting status shows as Pending, Reported, Conditionally Reported, Specially Conditional Reported or Cancelled.
  • You can chat with your allotted institute through the reporting module to resolve document queries.
  • Upward movement in later rounds does not need a fresh seat acceptance fee, except for a separate TFWS round.

Once counselling ends, you still need to complete physical verification of documents at your allotted institute. Without this in person step, your admission stays incomplete.

RMCAAP 2026 Withdrawal and Refund Policy

If you want to withdraw your RMCAAP 2026 admission before physical reporting, upload the cancellation form in the prescribed format through the portal. If you withdraw on or before the last date of seat cancellation set by AICTE, you get a full fee refund from your allotted institute.

  • The application cum registration fee of Rs. 885 stays non-refundable once your registration is done.
  • The seat acceptance fee of Rs. 10,000 gets refunded to your original bank account, minus a processing charge.
  • If your candidature gets rejected during reporting, you are treated as withdrawn without any extra application.
  • If you fail to report within the given time, your allotment is treated as withdrawn as well.

RMCAAP 2026 Helpline and Contact Details

If you run into trouble anywhere in the RMCAAP 2026 process, from registration to reporting, you can reach the Centre for Electronic Governance directly instead of guessing your way through an error.

  • Raise a support ticket through the official RMCAAP 2026 help portal for payment, login or document upload issues.
  • Call the RMCAAP 2026 helpline number between 9:30 AM and 6 PM, Monday to Friday, for urgent queries.
  • If your fee gets deducted but your form number is not generated, use the dedicated recovery link on the RMCAAP portal instead of paying again.
  • For institute level queries, such as document verification delays, contact your allotted college directly through the reporting chat window.

Keeping a record of your form number, transaction ID and registered mobile number handy speeds up any support conversation you need to have during the RMCAAP 2026 counselling window.
