The PGIMER Result 2026 for the July 2026 session entrance exam is out. The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh declared the score card on 13 June 2026 on the official website pgimer.edu.in. The result covers the entrance test held on 31 May 2026 in two shifts for MSc Nursing, MSc, M.Sc (MLT), Fellowship, Post-Doctoral Fellowship and PhD courses.

You can download the score card by logging into the candidate portal with your registration number and password. How to Check PGIMER Result 2026

The PGIMER Result 2026 is available only on the candidate portal. You have to log in with your registration ID and password to view and download your score card. Follow the steps below.

1. Open the official website pgimer.edu.in.
2. Click on the "Examination Section" tab on the home page.
3. Find the link that reads "Score Card Link for MSc/MSc Nursing/Fellowship/PhD Entrance Exam — July 2026 Session".
4. Click on the link. A login window will open.
5. Enter your Registration ID and Password that you used at the time of application.
6. Your score card will load on the screen. Check every detail carefully.
7. Download the PDF and take at least two printouts. Keep one for counselling and one for your records.

If the portal does not open because of heavy traffic on result day, wait an hour and try again. Do not refresh the page repeatedly — it can lock your session.

PGIMER 2026 Qualifying Marks

To be in the merit list, you have to clear the minimum qualifying mark in the entrance test. The cut-offs are category-specific and have stayed the same for several years.

Clearing the qualifying mark only gets you into the merit list. It does not promise a seat. The final admission depends on your rank, the seats available in your category and the speciality you choose at counselling.

PGIMER 2026 Tie-Breaking Rules

When two or more candidates score the same total in the entrance test, PGIMER applies a set of tie-breakers to rank them. The rules run in the order below — the first one that breaks the tie wins.

1. Higher marks in the subject-specific section of the test.
2. Higher percentage in the qualifying degree (B.Sc Nursing for MSc Nursing, the relevant Master’s degree for PhD, and so on).
3. Older candidate (date of birth — earlier date gets the higher rank).

If the tie still does not break, PGIMER’s examination committee takes a final call based on the supporting documents you submit at counselling.

PGIMER 2026 Seat Matrix

The seat strength for MSc Nursing has stayed steady at 31 seats split across five specialities. Other course-wise seat counts depend on the department and the supervisor’s availability for the cycle.

Seats are split across categories — UR, OBC, EWS, SC, ST and PwBD — as per the PGIMER reservation policy. The exact category-wise breakup for each speciality is shared in the counselling notification.

Seats for MSc (other disciplines), M.Sc (MLT), Fellowship, Post-Doctoral Fellowship and PhD are listed department-wise in the prospectus and at the start of the counselling round.

What After PGIMER Result 2026: Counselling

If your name is in the merit list, the next step is document verification and counselling at PGIMER Chandigarh. Counselling is offline — you have to be present in person on the date PGIMER assigns to you. Skipping the date you are called for can cost you the seat.

Carry the documents listed below in original along with two sets of self-attested photocopies. Missing even one document on the day can stop you from being considered for a seat.

Once the documents are verified, seats are allotted in order of merit and choice filling. After the seat is allotted, you have to pay the course fee within the deadline and report at the department. Missing the reporting deadline cancels the seat and the next candidate on the waiting list is called in.
