Nagaland Board has reduced the syllabus for session 2020-21 for senior and higher secondary exams. With the change in syllabus the exam pattern will also be affected and there will be some major changes in the number of questions, weightage of chapters etc. The official notice released by the Nagaland board reads that the syllabus shall be reduced by 20-30% for the sole purpose of reducing the workload of students and to compensate for the lost teaching days. The chapters that have been removed are available on the official website and the change in the syllabus will be applicable for the academic year 2020-21 only.

Nagaland Board Class 10 Grading System

There are five subjects in Nagaland board class 10 exam in which four are compulsory and fifth is optional. English is the compulsory language paper and Second Language options include Alternative English, Bengali, Hindi, Sumi, Lotha and Tenyidie. Mathematics, Social science and Science fill the scope of five necessary subjects. For the extra 6th paper, the aspirants have to select one paper among Book-keeping and Environmental Education, Foundation of information, Accountancy, Home Science and Music.

  • First Language (English) consists of First Unit (Literature 25 numbers), Unit Second (Reading 20 numbers) Unit Third (Writing 20 numbers) and Unit Fourth (Grammar 15 Numbers).
  • Mathematics consists of Section A (Numbering System 02 numbers), Section B (Algebra 20 numbers), Section C (Trigonometry 12 numbers), Section D (Coordinate Geometry 06 numbers), Section E (Geometry 16 numbers), Section F (Mensuration 12 numbers), Section G (Probability and Statistics 12 numbers).
  • Science consists of Section A (Materials 25 marks), Section B (Energy 24 numbers), Section C (Living World 20 numbers) Section D (Natural Resources 05 numbers) Section E (Environment 06 numbers).
  • Social Science Consists of Section A (Contemporary and India world 18 numbers), Section B (Indian Resources 18 numbers), Section C (Democratic Politics 18 numbers) Section D (Economy and Understanding 16 numbers), Section E (G.K and Nagaland Geography 10 numbers).
  • All the above subjects are 100 numbers (80 numbers described in weightage) and internal evaluation 20 marks.
  • The following subjects consist of (Theory 70 and Internal Evaluation 30). The work Physical and Health Education, Art Education subjects include 100 marks.
  • The time duration for theory paper (180 Minutes).

Preparation Tips for NBSE HSSLC

With the Exam fast oncoming, we are necessarily already formulating a plan for preparing for the exam. But, here are some helpful tips to use you to prepare well and score more.

Plan a Timetable- Schedule is challenging when exams are around the angle. A proper schedule is key to preparation for exams. Creating a study plan will not only help in proper schedule time but will also decrease the level of stress that you face during exams preparation time. There are no hard level rules for planning study management. It is personalized to suit factors such as the amount of time table that can be made to study, speed learning and study pattern etc. When you plan good management, make sure that it will work for you and also make sure that you stick to the plan.

Solve previous years’ question papers- Solving the previous years’ question sample will make you familiar with the question pattern. You will be able to have a good idea of your level of preparation and your field of weakness. When you keep on practising, you will be able to grow your speed of writing and end the exam in-time.

Understand the clear concepts- Understanding the topics is essential. Memorizing the answers without understanding the concepts will not help. If you have doubts get them cleared immediately. If you are not able to understand the textbook, you can always ask your teacher and guardian. Your teacher will help in clearing the doubts concepts.

Ans: The classes have been partially resumed with standard social distancing protocol as per the order of ministry of home affairs. Classes are being conducted for senior and higher secondary students only.
