Students have to study 5 compulsory subjects for Maharashtra SSC Exams 2024. The subjects include English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. The exam pattern provides students the detailed marks distribution for each subject.

Candidates who are going to appear for Maharashtra Board SSC Exam must be aware of the latest exam pattern of each subject before starting with the preparation. English Exam Pattern

Maharashtra Board SSC English exam will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. The theory exam will be of 80 marks and the remaining 20 marks will be allotted to internal assessment/oral tests. Detailed marks distribution is mentioned in the table below:

Mathematics Exam Pattern

Maharashtra Board SSC Mathematics exam is divided into two sections i.e. Section 1 - Algebra and Section 2 - Geometry.

  • The exam will be conducted for a total of 100 marks.
  • The theory paper will carry 80 Marks and 20 marks will be evaluated on the basis of internal assessment. 

The exam pattern of both section1 and section 2 is the same. Type of questions asked in the examination and marks allotted to the questions for both the papers is mentioned in the table below:

Science Exam Pattern

Maharashtra Board SSC Science Exam will be held for a total of 100 marks. The question paper will be of 80 marks and the remaining 20 marks will be allotted for practical/viva/projects. Theory exam of Science will be divided into two parts – Part-1 and Part-2. Both the papers will be of 40 marks each.

Both paper 1 and paper 2 will consist of 4 types of questions. Paper pattern of both the papers is as follows:

Social Science Exam Pattern

Social Science paper is conducted for a total of 100 marks which is divided into 80 marks for theory paper and 20 marks for Practical/Viva/Projects. There will be two papers of Social Science subject as the syllabus is divided into two parts of four subjects – 

  • Part A: History and Political Science
  • Part B: Geography and Economics

The theory exam for both Part A and Part B will be of 40 marks each. There will be a practical/viva/project of 10 marks each for Part A and Part B. Check the below table for detailed distribution of marks:

Optional Language Exam Pattern

Students can opt for any two languages as their optional language subject. Students can choose the languages from the list Modern Indian Languages, Classical Languages and Modern Foreign Languages. The language paper will be of total 100 marks.

  • The total weightage of the theory exam for the language paper will be of 80 marks.
  • The remaining 20 marks will be allotted to oral test.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) uses listening and oratory abilities as part of its internal evaluation for English in Classes 9 and 10.

20% of the total marks for the Maharashtra Board 10th test pattern are allotted to internal assessments, while the remaining 80% are for the final written test. To pass the exam, students must receive at least 33% in each subject and overall.
