Kerala CEE MCA 2024 eligibility criteria: Prior to moving onto the eligibility criteria, let’s understand insights of the exam. Kerala CEE MCA 2024 exam is administered by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Government of Kerala. The primary objective of the exam is to grant admission in Master of Computer Application course in the state of Kerala. During the current year, allotment for admission to MCA Course will be made to those institutions willing to participate in the Single Window System of Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) and having AICTE approval.

Kerala CEE MCA 2024 eligibility is having a B.C.A/ B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ B.Sc (IT) / B.E(CSE)/ B.Tech (CSE) / B.E(IT) / B.Tech (IT) or equivalent degree. You can fill Kerala CEE MCA 2024 application form with any graduation degree, preferably with Mathematics with a minimum 50% qualifying marks (if General) and 45% marks (if reserved/PwD categories). Only aspirants belonging to Indian citizenship, and both Kerala and non-Kerala residing students, are eligible to take the test.

Candidate seeking admission to the course should be qualified from any of the Universities in Kerala or any other Universities, recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala. Final year UG degree seeking students are also permitted to appear for the Entrance Examination. In this case, the original degree certificate and mark lists of all parts of the qualifying examination shall be produced. If we talk about Kerala CEE MCA 2024 seat reservation, about 40% of seats are reserved for PwD students for admission. On the other hand, SC and ST categories holds 8% and 2% of seats respectively.

Kerala CEE MCA 2024 Domicile Criteria

Candidate must be an Indian Citizen. All candidates must submit their original copies of the birth certificate issued by a Village Officer or the competent authority showing that the candidate is a native of any State or Union Territory of India, passport, school certificate showing place of birth will also be accepted as proof of nativity.

  • Keralite: A candidate of Kerala origin will be categorized as a ‘Keralite’. Only candidates belonging to Keralite category are eligible for claiming seats under Mandatory Reservation Quota
  • Non-Keralite: Those who do not belong to Keralite category will be considered as NonKeralites.

Kerala CEE MCA 2024 Age Criteria

For appearing in Kerala CEE MCA 2024 exam, there is no age limit. Candidate of any age can sit for the examination. In order to prove that a candidate is an Indian Citizen of Kerala Origin he/she has to upload a certificate showing the Place of Birth in Kerala OR a certificate from competent authority showing that one or either of his/her parents was born in Kerala.

Kerala CEE MCA 2024 Academic Qualifications

All candidates, who belong to the general category, must have secured 50% marks in bachelor’s degree and 45% of marks for SEBC and physically handicapped candidates. For SC and ST candidates a minimum pass in the degree examination is sufficient. Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply for the Common Entrance Examination, Kerala 2024. All Candidates must submit their original degree certificate and the entire mark list of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

  1. Colleges affiliated to University of Kerala:

Candidates must have completed Bachelor's Degree of minimum three years duration after 10 +2 level in the subject component (s) in any discipline with Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Computer Application / Engineering and Technology as a Main / Subsidiary / Core subject.

  1. Colleges affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University and Kannur University:

Candidates must have completed a regular Bachelors Degree course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics / Statistics as one of the Subjects or a regular Bachelor's Degree course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10 +2 level from any recognized university. Or, have a BCA Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized University.

  1. Colleges affiliated to University of Calicut:

Candidates must have a bachelors Degree in any discipline of 3 yrs duration with mathematics, this does not include Business Mathematics or Business Statistics, as one of the main subjects in the course undergone under the regular program recognized by the Calicut University.

  1. Colleges affiliated to the Kannur University

Candidates must have a regular Bachelor's Degree Course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level. Or have a Regular Bachelor's Degree Course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics / Statistics as one of the Subjects or a BCA Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized University.

There is no fixed rule for any candidates to a number of attempts in Kerala CEE MCA 2024 Exam.


Kerala CEE MCA 2024 Seat Reservation

Categories of Seats in Kerala MCA

In Kerala CEE MCA 2024 Exam, all seats are allotted as government, management, and Lapsed seats: 

(a) Government seats: these seat allotments will be made by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) based on the rank list published by them.  

(b) Management seats: These seats set apart in aided / Self-financing institutions to be filled up by the Management concerned on the basis of the Supreme Court direction and Government Orders on this behalf.  

(c) Lapsed seats: Those seats may be filled up by the institution itself when the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations intimates that he would not be allotting any more candidates against such seats. 

Reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PWD)

  • In Kerala CEE MCA exam, 3 percent of the seats available to the State for allotment from the State rank lists are reserved for candidates with disabilities, for all courses in Govt./Aided Colleges as stipulated in Section 39, Chapter VI of the Persons With Disabilities Act 1995.
  • A candidate who is suffering from a minimum of 40% disability alone will be eligible to apply for this quota.
  • These candidates must have to submit, a disability certificate from the District Medical Board obtained within 12 months prior to the date of submission of print out of the application form along with the print out of the application form.
  • Also, these candidates must have to produce a certificate obtained from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon to the effect that the candidate is fit enough to undergo the M.C.A. Course.

Note:

  • The seats unavailed by the SC candidates will go to the ST candidates and vice versa in the final allotment for all colleges.
  • The seats unavailed by the SC/ST candidates will be filled from OEC category. Seats unavailed by OEC candidates will be allotted to state merit candidates in the final allotment for all colleges.
  • The seats unavailed by SEBC candidates will be allotted to State Merit candidates in the final allotment for all colleges.
  • Seats unavailed by EWS candidates will go to State Merit for all colleges
  • If any seat, in any special reservation quota including PWD quota, is left unavailed it will go to State Merit.
