Bihar Board 10th Grading System is based on awarding divisions to students according to their marks. As per this grading system, students are categorized into first, second, and third divisions based on the marks scored by them in Bihar Board 10th Result 2025. For the session 2024-25, the same grading system will be used.
The total marks for all subjects in Bihar Board 10th Exam 2025 are 500. Students scoring 300 marks and above (in total) will be awarded the 1st division.
BSEB has declared the Bihar Board Class 10 passing marks to be 30% for each subject. Out of 100, candidates must score at least 30 marks to pass in the paper. A minimum of 150 marks are required in total to be declared pass. Students scoring below the passing marks will have to take the Bihar Board Class 10 Compartment Exam.

Students should understand the Bihar Board 10th Grading System as this will be used to prepare the final result.
- The grading system offers only three divisions/grades to the students, namely, first division, second division, and third division.
- The divisions are based on the total marks scored by the student in all the subjects undertaken.

The total number of subjects each student has to appear in the Bihar Board 10th Exams 2025 is five. Each subject will carry 100 marks. Therefore, the aggregate marks for all the subjects will be 500. Students scoring 149 or below marks will be considered fail.

Bihar Board 10th Grading System 2025: Percentage Calculation
Since students are awarded marks in their Bihar Board 10th Exam, they can calculate their percentage easily. Students must calculate their percentage as it will be required for future application purposes.
For calculating the percentage, students need to know the marks scored in their main five subjects. The formula for calculating the percentage is as follows:

Students have to score passing marks in each subject as well as in aggregate to pass the Bihar Board 10th Exam 2025. The passing marks are as follows:

Candidates must also note the following points regarding the passing criteria in Bihar Board:
- If a student manages to secure 30 marks in each subject, then his/her total marks would be 150 and he/she shall be declared pass.
- In case a student gets a total score of 150 or above, but has scored below 30 in one or more subjects, then he or she will have to sit for the compartment exam for those subjects.
- Students who have failed in four or more subjects are not eligible to sit for the compartment exams. In such a case, the candidate has to repeat the whole year and appear for the exams in the next academic year.
