Assam JLEE 2026 Preparation Tips

With just 8 days left for the exam, your preparation should now focus on revision and practice rather than learning new topics. The exam tests your three-year diploma knowledge, so most of the content is already familiar to you. The key is to revise well and not lose easy marks on the OMR sheet.

Last-Week Preparation Strategy

  • Revise core topics: Cover the high-weightage chapters of your branch and Mathematics. Do not start any new topic now.
  • Solve previous year papers: Solve at least 3-4 Assam JLEE previous year question papers in a strict 3-hour window.
  • Practice OMR sheets: Bubble-filling on an OMR sheet is a skill. Use a sample OMR to time yourself.
  • Make a formula sheet: A one-page sheet of Mathematics and Engineering formulas helps in last-day revision.
  • Avoid stress: Sleep well, eat light and avoid heavy study on the day before the exam.

Section-wise Approach in the Exam

  • Engineering (60 marks): Start with this section. It carries the most weight and the questions come from your own diploma syllabus.
  • Mathematics (20 marks): Solve direct-formula questions first. Skip lengthy calculus problems for later.
  • Basic Computers and Graphics (20 marks): This is a scoring section if you know MS Office, basic computer concepts and engineering drawing.
  • Since there is no negative marking, you should attempt all 100 questions. Even an educated guess can fetch you a mark.

Books and Resources

  • SCTE Assam diploma textbooks of your branch
  • NCERT Class 11 and 12 Mathematics (for Maths section)
  • "Basic Computer Engineering" by E. Balagurusamy
  • "Engineering Drawing" by N.D. Bhatt
  • Stream-specific reference books (S.S. Bhavikatti for Civil, R.S. Khurmi for Mechanical, V.K. Mehta for Electrical)
  • Assam JLEE previous year question papers
