What are the qualifying marks for AP LAWCET exam?

The qualifying percentage of marks in the Entrance Test is 35% (i.e. 42 marks out of total 120 marks) for general candidates. There are no minimum qualifying marks for SCs and STs for ranking. If you belong to Sc or ST, then clearing the test would make you eligible for counselling. 

What is the pattern of the AP LAWCET exam?

AP LAWCET 2025 Marking Scheme

  • Candidates will get one mark for every correct answer.
  • No negative marking is there for the wrong answer.
  • If candidates leave questions unattempted then no negative marking will be done.
  • Only correct answers will be taken for the final score calculation.

AP LAWCET 2025 Mode

Mode of Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance test is online. It is a computer-based Test. The test comprises of three sections:

  • General Knowledge and Mental Ability.
  • Current Affairs.

AP LAWCET 2025 Time Duration

The total duration of the Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test will be 1hr 30 minutes i.e 90 minutes. Candidates have to complete the examination within the time period. There will be no extra time.

  • The medium of examination for the Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test will be either English or Telugu.

Qualifying Marks in AP LAWCET

The AP LAWCET Qualifying Marks for 3 years and 5 years courses is mentioned below:

  • Candidates will have to obtain a minimum of 35% in the test, i.e., 42 marks out of the total marks of 120, to appear for assessment and ranking of AP LAWCET.
  • Candidates belonging to SC or ST categories do not require minimum qualifying marks.
  • The qualifying percentage of marks for the LLM program is 25% i.e 30 marks out of total 120 marks. There will be no qualifying marks for SC and ST ranking.

AP LAWCET 2025 Vs AP PGLCET 2025 Pattern

The AP LAWCET 2025 exam is conducted for admission to 3-year and 5-year LLB programs. Meanwhile, the AP PGLCET 2025 exam is for admission to the two-year LLM program. The exam conducting body release a separate exam pattern for the AP PGLCET 2025. Here are some of the major differences in exam patterns between the two exams.

  • The LLM syllabus also includes 120 multiple-choice questions. But the distribution of questions is different:
  1. Part A - Jurisprudence 20, Constitutional Law 20; Total of 40 questions 
  2. Part B - Public International Law 16, Mercantile Law 16, Labour Law 16, Crimes and Torts 16, and IPR and Other Laws 16; Total of 80 questions 
  • The AP PGLCET 2025 question paper will only be set in English; Telugu is not an option
  • A single entrance exam is conducted for admission to all LLM courses.
