SVKM'S NMIMS Institute of Intellectual Property Studies Mumbai Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Institute of Intellectual Property Studies (IIPS) is the Department of Law of the Mumbai-based SVKM’s NMIMS, a “deemed to be” university. The institute offers PG Diploma, certificate and short-term courses in various disciplines of property law with a batch intake of 30 students per course.

• Applicants must submit a hard copy of the completed application form along with 1 passport, 2 Stamp size photographs & attested copy of Mark sheets & Degrees after submission of the online application form.
• The application fee can be paid only through demand draft. No other mode of payment is accepted by the institute.
• PG Diploma candidates must score at least 50% marks in graduation in order to be eligible to apply.
• Candidates appearing in the final exam of 10+2 or graduation are not eligible to apply.
• Applicants are selected on the basis of marks obtained in the last qualifying exam.
• Shortlisted candidates are further evaluated on the basis of work experience, highest qualification etc.

Institute Of Intellectual Property Studies Mumbai Highlights 2024

Institute of Intellectual Property Studies offers PG Diploma, Certificate, and short term courses in various disciplines of law. 

The specializations for PG Diploma include Patent Law & Practice and Intellectual Property Rights Management. 

The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is an undergraduate or Bachelor’s degree varying from course to course. Candidates must meet additional eligibility criterion of securing a minimum of 50% marks for specialized courses such as PGDPLP and PGDIPRM.

Key Notes:

• Candidates who have completed graduation through distance mode are also eligible to apply for the PG Diploma programs.
• The candidate must carry a separate demand draft of Rs.1, 000/- towards library deposit which is to be submitted at the time of counselling/ admission.
• Only Pharmacy, Engineering and Law graduates are eligible for the Patent Agent Training Program.

It is hereby advised that the applicant reads all the instructions in the information brochure carefully before filling the online application form. The application process in details is as follows:

• Click on the application link for the desired course listed under the Admission tab on the institute website.
• All requisite particulars in the application form must be filled correctly. There is no scope for editing the application once submitted.
• Provide the correct email address and mobile number for future communication. 
• Fill genuine academic and employment details in the application form. Misleading information could result in the cancellation of the applicant’s candidature.
• They must take a printout of the complete application form and send a copy of the same to the institute’s admission office.

After online registration, the below mentioned documents must be sent via post to the institute’s admission office in order to complete the application process:

• 10th and 12th mark sheet and passing certificate
• Degree mark sheet for all years & Degree Certificate
• Convocation Certificate for candidates opting for Post Graduate Diploma in Patent Law & Practice / Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights Management / Certificate Course in Drug Regulatory & Intellectual Property Rights
• Demand draft for the prescribed application fee, drawn in favor of "SVKM’s NMIMS" payable at Mumbai.
