Sarsuna Law College was established in the year 2004. It is affiliated to Vidyasagar University and approved by The Bar Council of India. It is situated in the Kolkata city of West Bengal state.

SLC, Kolkata offers primarily LLB and LLM courses. The courses are designed to prepare future lawyers who can achieve excellence in their field.

Students who wish to apply for LLB course must have obtained Bachelor's degree with 45% aggregate marks.
To apply for LLM course, one should have completed LLB with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
Those who belong to SC or ST category have a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks.
Candidates must be less than 36 years old while applying for LLB course.
Those who have completed their graduation from any Open University are not eligible to apply for any of the courses.

Sarsuna Law College, Kolkata Application Process 2023

The students who wish to get admission in this college can obtain the forms available online at the college website. The forms are available in the last week of May. The applications are received till the end of May and the list of selected candidates is published in the first week of June itself.

Around the same time admissions are also carried out for the students whose names were published in the first merit list.
Depending upon the availability of seats, a second merit list will also be displayed in the beginning of 2nd week of June and in the same duration, the admissions for the same will also be conducted.
LLM admissions are taken in the end of second week of June when all LLB admission are completed.
Students should carry important documents such as X and XII mark sheets, Admit Card, Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate, Graduation marksheets, ID proof and photographs at the time of applying for the desired course. These documents are to be attached with the form at the time of application.
The registration fee is INR 140/-.
If you are selected in the admission process then you can join the classes after paying your admission and first semester’s fee.

Admission:

Since I was looking for 3-Year LL.B (H), my options were already limited as most law colleges in the city offer 5-Year LL.B course. I shortlised Sarsuna Law College, Kolkata Police Law College, Kingston Law College, Sister Nivedita School of Law Although I enquired about the course, I decided against admitting in Kingston Law College as it was very far from my home. I was ineligible for admission in Kolkata Police Law College, as I had no family member (parents) employed in the Kolkata Police. The fee structure of Sister Nivedita School of Law was quite high and against my liking. Sarsuna Law College had a descent fee structure compared to the rest, and also happened to be within reasonable distance from my house. As a result, I took the decision to get admitted in this college. The admission procedure is fairly simple. It is merit-based, as per your overall graduation marks (CGPA). Higher CGPA ensures greater chance of securing admission in the college, although the cut-off does not tend to be very high.

Admission:

If you complete your 12th you can apply for this course in this college. There is no such exam taken for admission but our marks should be above 50 percentage. They will make overall merit list if you got selected you can take admission by carrying amount with your details

Facts of Sarsuna Law College

Admission:

All Admission processes are done online only, the 12th pass or Graduation percentage or CGPA is the mark of merit eligibility. To be eligible to apply for the course student must be got at least 60% in the last board or university examination. The application form must be downloaded from the online college register website and fees must be paid online or pay fee chalan. The website is not so user-friendly but all details are available on the website.

You can get admission into this directly through the higher secondary examination marks or joint entrance examination. The admission procedure is quite simple and the administrative officers are also very co-operative and helpful.
