JSS Law College is an autonomous institute for legal studies in India, functioning under the direction of JSS Mahavidyapeeth. The college was established in the year 1982 and is located in the city of Mysore, Karnataka.

JSS Law College offers undergraduate (B.A. LL.B Hons, B.B.A. LL.B Hons and LL.B) and post graduate degrees (LL.M) in law, along with certificate courses in human rights, cyber law and medical jurisprudence. The degrees are given by the Karnataka State Law University, Hubli.

  • Candidates who have acquired a minimum score of 45% (40% for reserved category) in their 10+2 examination are eligible for admission to the B.A., LL.B and B.B.A., LL.B courses.
  • Those applying to the LL.B course must successfully complete graduation/post graduation from a recognized university with minimum 45% marks (40% for reserved category).
  • For LL.M course, applicants must complete graduation in law with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category) .
  • Admissions to the undergraduate courses are entirely merit based.
  • They are shortlisted on the basis of their academic performance post which they have to appear in front of an admission committee for screening.
  • The admission committee takes into account LSAT-India sores for LLM programme .
  • Candidates can apply online for the courses and also request for the application form and prospectus by sending a DD of Rs 300 in favour of The Principal, JSS Law College Autonomous payable at Mysore -570023, Karnataka.
  • A self-addressed stamped cover of Rs. 50 must also be sent along with the form.
  • Final selection of candidates is done of the basis of academic performance, LSAT scores (not mandatory) and interview by admission committee.

JSS Law College B.A., LL.B, B.B.A., LLB and LL.B Admission 2024

The B.A., LL.B and B.B.A., LLB courses offered by JSS Law College are of 5 years duration while the LL.B course is spread over a period of 3 years. Candidates must score at least 45% (40% in reserved) in their 10+2 examinations in order to be eligible for admission to the B.A., LL.B and B.B.A., LLB programmes. Those seeking admission to LL.B programmes must complete graduation or post graduation with a minimum of 45% (40% for reserved category) marks. 

Admissions are based on merit. A candidate’s eligibility is evaluated by an admission committee on the basis of scores obtained by him or her in the qualifying exam.

JSS Law College LL.M Admission 2024

LL. M course is conducted over a period of 2 years. For admission to LL.M programme, applicants must complete graduation in law with a minimum of 45% (40% for reserved category) marks.  

The admission is based on LSAT scores. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their 10+2, graduation and LSAT scores have to appear before the admission committee which makes the final decision on admission. The criteria for admission may be modified by the admission committee of the college.

JSS Law College Application Process

Candidates can obtain the application forms and prospectus from the college admissions office or request for it by post by sending a demand draft of Rs. 300 in favour of The Principal, JSS Law College Autonomous payable at Mysore, Karnataka. They must also send a self-addressed stamped envelope of Rs. 50.

  • Applicants can also apply online at the college website www.jsslawcollege.in.
  • The duly filled form must contain complete information about a candidate’s academic credentials, LSAT scores (if appeared for) and category (reserved/general).
  • Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their academic record have to appear in front of an admission committee for screening.
  • Those who have appeared for LSAT- India entrance test for law graduates must produce scores obtained in the same.

Candidates must send photocopies of the following documents along with the form:-

  1. 10th, 12th and graduation (if applicable) mark sheets.
  2. 10th, 12th and graduation (if applicable) pass certificates.
  3. Eligibility certificate.
  4. Domicile certificate.
  5. Transfer certificate from last institute studied at.
  6. Migration certificate (if graduation is done from a different university).
  7. LSAT Score card (if appeared for).

Note :- The admission committee verifies documents and evaluates a candidate on various parameters before arriving at a decision.

Remarks:

It was one of the best colleges in Mysore for law. And most of them familiar had studied there. It's was near. And more likely it was autonomous and had good teaching staff and they focussed more on law, and it was a five year course.
