IHM Pusa - An Inside View

State-of the art facilities and the infrastructure of the institute were a few of the best things that we highly appreciated in college.
Exposure to hospitality professionals helps in building and developing confidence along with gaining hands-on experience.
Extra-curricular activities like Swacchata Drive, People of Pusa, Visiting Faculties for Demo-sessions, etc., helps students with their personality development and their personal growth.

Dislikes

Poor connectivity inside the college area due to jammers.
Less number of hours hostellers can stay out for.
Less number of accommodation for students in hostels.

Admission:

The NCHMCT, organises an exam under the name of NCHM-JEE, where students who wish to apply and pursue their careers into the hospitality sector can appear and give the exam. There are mainly three category of colleges - Government, Semi-Government and Private Institutions. As per the rank accquired by the examinee, the colleges are alloted to the particular student based on the preference of the colleges asked. I preferred IHM Pusa over IHM Mumbai as I was sure about getting into the topmost ranked cullinary institute in our country. Eligibility criterias are that you need to score atleast 50% in Class 12th along with English being a compulsary subject.

Ithink I like the faculty friendly behaviour and I don't like the traditional things as this is really old building
Faculty expertise are really good teaching methods are mostly practical so it really helps too much
Infrastructure is really old but everything else is really good as we have modern equipments to learn

Dislikes

I don't like the ambience of this college
Everything is too far to get mostly we have to do online
Mess food quality is as good as it should be

Admission:

I have applied for IHM Mumbai too as my rank was not that good so I don't think of getting IHM pusa but I got this opportunity and I got every college that I wanted to get in but I chose IHM pusa cause of its position

The good the bad and the in between of ihm Pusa

Likes

The college is well disciplined and it is well maintained by the seniors and faculty as well
There is no ragging issue in our college and they follow anti ragging and posh act strictly as well
Lunch is also provided to day scholars as well and they don't charge for that as well

Dislikes

The college building is very old I think it should be renovated
It is India's number one clg but the campus is very small
We can't post college and hostel pics on social media

Admission:

I didn't apply for any college but during my admission process I locked two colleges ihm Pusa as first Choice and aihm chandigarh as second choice and in the first round of counselling I got ihm Pusa and I was very glad as it was my dream college. For getting admission in this college you must have passed class 12th with 50% marks form any stream and age limit is 25 years. Nchmjee exam is conducted by nchmct Noida you have to appear for that and have to secure a decent rank in that. Today 500 rank is good to get the college and reservation is also given to ews sc st candidates.

For campus placement all top grade hospitality campany like taj, itc obroei etc
Practical classes have amazing tools and atmosphere

AC is not avalable in college except mess and library

Admission:

I have choosen this college because it's india's best hospitality college. As i have appiled for amity noida but from my prospective IHM Pusa has less fees as it has fees of 5 lakhs where as amity noida has 13 kakhs so its the main feature as they give best learning and placement with less fees

A brief about ihm pusa

Likes

3 kitchens for different purpose like bakery, cooking etc
2 restaurant one is old one is new but only new one is used
Good campus placement as all 5 star companies come

Dislikes

Faculty is not good, most of them don't know how to teach
Infrastructure is too bad only 2 buildings a very small collehe
Kitchen equipments has old food stains, doesn't clean properly

Chose this college because it was number 1 in placement and was the nearest to my home For admission you have to fill the NCHMCT form and then give an MCQ based paper consists of logical reasoning, maths, english, social

The professors are well qualified for their jobs. If you are passionate about your stuff then the professors will mentor you well.
College ensures that everyone gets placement. It has maintained its history of 100% placements. One gets the opportunity to avail for placements in hotels, retail and corporate industry according to their liking.
This College is filled with students with passion for food and service. In the campus, you will engage with students that have the same passion as yours and is very helpful for your career in the long run.

Dislikes

The Campus is very small and will not meet your expectations.
there is a lot of politics in the college. Only the students who are engaging with the professors will get the chance to participate in events in the college.
The college mess food is really bad. you would expect good food from a hospitality college, but it’s not the case with this college

Admission:

to enter the college, there is an exam conducted by NCHMCT. You need to get amazing scores in your NCHMCT exams, which are easy to get if you are versed with the basic maths and current affairs and static GK just basic. I personally did not apply for any other college because this was the college ranked number one in the country.

A dead honest review about IHM Pusa

Likes

The professors are well qualified for their job and they give attention to students who are really interested only.
College ensure that everyone gets placed.
To choose whether they want to pursue their career in hotels, corporate offices.

Dislikes

The campus is very small and the buildings are very old and rusty until last year. The hostel did not even have air conditioning and even the students were not allowed to get their set their own electrical equipments.
There is a lot of politics going on in the college. Only the students preferred by the professors get a chance of exposure during their college life to various events.
The college mess provides food for everyone, but the food quality is not as per expectation.

Likes

The timings of the college were perfect according to the students life
The location of the college is nice because the metro routes are easy to commit.

Dislikes

The infrastructure was f the college was not as upto to mark
The placements are not as good as they claim they are.

Admission:

I have an interest in cooking from the start and based on that, I decided to opt for this course and it was not bad at all, you tend to learn the basics of a hotel, how to get the work done by someone, and the smarness you need inside this industry
