For internships since we all were from different cities used to give interviews at our home locations and roles were the various entry-level jobs in the hotel, like associate stewards, receptionists, bellboys, at the concierge, after a point when you become good at what you are being taught they consider you for slightly bigger roles like supervising a microtask.
In IHM HYDERABAD Internship opportunities are more they send students to internships in the second year of the course they will divide the batch into summer and winter batches and then student have to give an interview to the internship and hotels will recruit to the internship
2nd year is the time when you are given industry exposure, based on which you get to finish a project detailing the industry and the hotel. The environment is such that each hotel knows your college well. The college gives a call to each hotel, also many hotels give a call to our college, Some of the students have done training in the Taj Mahal hotel ( Mumbai). It will never dissatisfy you.
Students are eligible after the 5 sem When they complete their industrial trip by their performance in the hotels or companies in which they were selected.
There are campus recruitment help by various hotel's and retail sectors.The recruiter consist of Taj Hotel, Itc hotel, Oberoi hotel etc. The placement is 100% and one has 2 to 4 job at the end.
The placements are of the top recruiting companies in the industry. For someone who has enough and sufficient skills to crack the interview.
The placements are really good. The students are ensured placements at big hotels like the Taj, Oberoi and Novotel for various posts right from managers to chefs. Mr. Sanjyot Keer, the founder of Your Food Lab is said to have graduated from IHM.
The roles offered to students were revenue manager, yield manager, front office agent, team leader, duty manager, research analyst, assistant manager housekeeping, manager housekeeping etc. The highest package offered was 11 lpa and the minimum was 5 lpa. Summer internships were offered to those who want to gain work experience in this field. he minimum stipend guaranteed was 8,000 per month.
Roles such as management trainee, cabin crew, kitchen management trainee, finance analyst,research officer, custom relative executive etc were offered to students during my batch. The highest salary awarded for the post of cabin crew was 11 lpa and the average was 4 lpa for customer relation executive. The job areas include food & beverage marketing, sales sector, hotel administration, front line office operations etc. Internships were also provided by the college to the students with the minimum stipend of 15,000 per month.
