My College through my words

Likes

Ecofriendly campus. Teaching faculties guide in all manner of academics.
Railway stations nearby Payyannur and Pazhayangadi.
Arts and Sports along with many programmes to be participated.

Dislikes

Some more building facilities.Dining canteens for students.
Shortage of dental materials and that to be purchased by students itself.
The preclinical labs turning to be the lecture halls occasionally feels discomfort.

Internships Opportunities:

Internship of about one year ,after four and half years of studies .A stipend of 28000 being offered by the govt.The clinical exposure during internship add on skills of the student.The posting in casualty is offered by pur college is superb.

Campus atmosphere is good, it include amphitheatre,nucleus ,synthetic ground for mind relief
Faculties are approachable,they clearly explains each patient cases and train us how to communicate with patients.
There is canteen in college and as well as hospital ,for refreshments we can go there and have food

Dislikes

Infrastructure can be improved. In some departments some requirements are not there
Toilets are not properly maintained and cleaned.
Student counselling facilities are not there

Internships Opportunities:

After 4.5 yrs of studies. 1 yr of internship that is known as house surgency. We are posted in different depts. Around 27000 rs are given as stipent got each intern. A housesurgen should work for 365 days.

Likes

The faculties here was very experienced and well educated and very approachable at the same time . We can approach and clarify our doubts at any time ad they are very approachable .
There are well equipped laboratory facilities here which we can can expertise our clinical skill.
There are great patient exposure that will can improve our clinical exposure

Dislikes

There are stray dogs which is very dangerous near the hostel.
There is no proper lift facilities and there is no ramp in college which is very difficult for the disabled persons .
Lack of enough dental chairs with proper working condition.

Internships Opportunities:

There is a one year internship programme which is in college itself and there will be a staipened about 27500 per month . In last year the stainpend is very low and now there will be an increase in monthly staipend. This internship will help to improve our clinical experience and knowledge.

The number of patients and patient exposure is very high
New techniques and approaches in treating patients
Ambient and peaceful working environment

Dislikes

Lack of well developed infrastructure and space
Lack of sufficient dental materials and resources to students
Time lag in treatment of patients due to high number of patients and less resources

Internships Opportunities:

One year of compulsory internship is done here . The college offers no job placements as such .As we graduate we become young eligible dentist who are able to deal with all types of patients. You should seek for job opportunities on your own .

There is much more patients available than any private college
Clinical facilities are much better for cases
Hostel is somewhat close to the college so we can walk

Dislikes

Preclinical lab facilities are not as much as required
Dentistry is much more expensive than we think
We have to buy materials to treat the patients ourselves

Internships Opportunities:

There is one year compulsory internship for dentistry in our college itself. There is an average of 25000/- stipend per month. We have to work in every department each month and will have quota to fill.

Our college have own lecture halls. So there is no need of depending medical lecture halls.
Our faculties are most dedicated ones. Their efforts makes us study very well.
Our collage provides us lockers so there is no need of taking instruments into hostel . We can put instruments in the locker safely. It will reduce load.

Dislikes

Everytime the lift under construction. It is very difficult to go up into 6th floor
They are not considering patient case in case of attendance
When the materials over we have to buy .

Internships Opportunities:

My college held internships here itself. Apart from dental college departments they are providing casuality posting in medical college. Every month of internship they give us stipends.we have qouta in some departments during our internships.

Just Tooth but Deep

Likes

Atmosphere was tooo good .The greenery surrounding here provided us fresh air
Professors are too approachable and they teach well
Friends I got in college life are the best people's I have met in my life

Internship opportunities is given by our college for 1 year which help us to gain experience in this branch .thus gain confidence while we treat a patient .Gain experience in exploring various cases in dentistry

Government dental college - A brief note.

Likes

The college has a very good set of experienced faculty
The facilities are appreciable here the surgery department is one of the best here
There is emergency medicine posting available during internship which is not done anywhere else

Dislikes

The campus is small and lacks proper space
There isnt a new building for the college

Internships Opportunities:

The internship begins from 4&half year after. Periods of internship is 1 year Most of the department covering an average of 30 days . The stipend paid is about 28000 per month. A paid leave of 1 day is only allowed during this period. Each department there are quotas to complete and then only you can go out.

Likes

The department of OMFS is very good and the staffs are very friendly
The department of pedodontics is good and staffs are very helpful

Dislikes

There is a shortage of materials in some department
The infrastructure of the college is so old that a lot of improvement is needed

Internships Opportunities:

The college itself provides a one-year intership for all students and monthly they get around 25000 rupees as a stipend from the government. for this course, There is no company that will approach you for the job. After internship, you have to find your job as well.

Overall very nice college

Likes

Very well qualified and Experienced professors
Big campus with football , basketball amd cricket ground
Regular fests and extracurricular activities

Dislikes

Hostel food is average, not too bad and not too good

Internships Opportunities:

In BDS internship are provided during last 1.5 year of course in which interns are paid approx Rs 25000-30000 and this amount increases according to government policies and the amount is same for MBBS and BDS
