NIRRH PhD Admission Dates 2022

• NIRRH offers a Ph.D. course in 2 specializations namely Biotechnology and Biochemistry.
• Candidates who are applying for admission to the Ph.D. course must hold an M.Sc degree in Pharm., M.V.SC, or MBBS with a minimum of 60% marks in General Category, and 55% marks in SC/ST category.
• Candidates applying for Ph.D. must qualify in the entrance examination conducted by the University of Mumbai or the GATE examination.

NIRRH Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who can apply for the Ph.D. program at NIRRH should have the following eligibility criteria:

• They should be Indian, holding a postgraduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences, or holding an MBBS or MD degree from India, with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA for students higher secondary onwards. Reserved category students of SC/ST/PWD are given a relaxation of 5% on the aggregate marks. In case the CGPA is not calculated based on the 10-point scale, a statement should be issued for the candidate by their respective university for the conversion of CGPA into a percentage.
• The candidate should have cleared at least one of these examinations: PET conducted by the University of Mumbai, or CSIR-UGC NET, or GATE, or JRF examination, or a valid DST-Inspire fellowship.
• Please note that registration for the Ph.D. degree will only be applicable after the eligibility criteria of Mumbai University is fulfilled.
• The upper age limit for general and EWS category students is 28, for SC/ ST/ PWD/ Women is 33 years, and for OBC is up to 31 years.

NIRRH Ph.D. Admission Criteria

Application forms have been released and the deadline for submitting the application form with necessary documents is February 11, 2021.

• Fill the application form available on the NIRRH official website. You can also collect the form from the college admin office.
• After filling the form, download the filled form, print it, and submit the printed form with the non-refundable Demand Draft of INR 300 drawn in favor of “The Director, NIRRH” to In-charge, Post Graduate Studies, ICMR-National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, Jehangir Merwanji Street, Parel, Mumbai 400 012.
• You have to write NIRRH Ph.D. ‘YEAR’ on top of the envelope. Incomplete submission and late submission will lead to disqualification.
• Shortlisted candidates will be announced on the official NIRRH and ICMR website after the application procedure is done. They will be given a date and time for a personal interview that will be conducted by the college for the selection procedure.
• Shortlisted students will be given a list of Ph.D. guides along with a brief description of their research project.
• The final selection will be based on the candidates’ performance in the persona interview.
