- STRONG INDUSTRY EXPOSURE : This course from RSJ provided valuable exposure to the media industry through continued interaction with experienced journalists, including Editor-in-chief Mr. Arnab Goswami himself. it also offered newsroom stimulations
- SUPPORTIVE FACULTY AND MENTORSHIP : All the faculty members, including the Dean, Mr. Niranjan Narayan Swamy, were very approachable and helpful.
Course Curriculum Overview:
I would rate the course highly in terms of curriculum and comprehensiveness.
One of the most important factors that influenced me to choose this course over others was its strong focus on Practical journalism.
Unlike purely academic programs, the curriculum was designed to provide us with live learing, exposure to newsroom, reporting techniques, content creation and media ethics.
This course at RSJ prepares us well for the real world expectation from acareer in media, because, for the entirety of this course, we've been taught how the newsroom and digital floors funcation and what all goes behind buidling a show from scratch.

- My overall experience at RSJ was positive. The course focused on practical journalism, newsroom exposure, reporting, anchoring and content planning & production.
- Faculty members were supportive and directly conducted sessions & shared their industry knowledge.
Dislikes
- The curriculum was aligned with current media requirement, though more workshops and field assignments could further improve the learning.
- The gender ratio was fairly balanced with a slight majority of female students.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum at RSJ was practical and industry oriented. The course focused on hands on newsroom experience and understanding the complete life cycle of a news story. The course offfered exposure to newsroom operations, reporting techniques, news writing & content production.

- The class composition was excellent and brought together a diverse group of students with different perspectives and experiences. While there were significantly more female students than male students—the ratio was approximately 9 girls to 3 boys—the learning environment remained engaging and collaborative. The varied viewpoints and insightful contributions from classmates made discussions interesting and enriched the overall learning experience.
- What was taught throughout the course was truly exceptional. The faculty consistently challenged us to perform at a level that often exceeded the expectations of a typical newsroom environment. Their high standards pushed us to continuously improve our skills, think critically, and strive for excellence. As students, we embraced those challenges and worked hard to make the most of every opportunity and learning experience available to us. The demanding yet rewarding environment played a significant role in our professional growth and preparation for the journalism industry.
- What made the experience even more impressive was the faculty itself. The people teaching us were one of the program's greatest strengths. We had the privilege of learning from respected professionals such as Niranjan Sir, Shawan Sir, Abhishek Sir, and Arnab Sir. It was remarkable to be taught by individuals with such extensive industry experience and expertise. Their guidance, insights, and real-world perspectives added immense value to the course and helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and the realities of the journalism industry.
Dislikes
- The class had a noticeable gender imbalance, with significantly more female students than male students. At times, this contributed to the formation of smaller groups and made the class feel somewhat fragmented. However, I do not believe this was intentional on the institution's part. Despite these challenges, the diverse perspectives within the class often led to interesting discussions and learning opportunities.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Well, it's highly relevant if you want to become a journalist. No other news channel gives you opportunities to work on projects like these. I firmly believe that sometimes you need to push people to help them perform at their best.
As for suggestions, I would recommend that the Dean be a little more open to criticism. Doing so would help build a stronger and more effective team over time. I would also suggest not rushing through the course content, as allowing more time for learning and practical application would greatly benefit the students.
