Reality of Delhi university Faculty of technology

Likes

Faculty members are very good and friendly behaviour in nature
College timing is good 09.00 AM to 06.00Pm but gap in between lecture 2 to 3 hrs
Saturday and Sunday holiday it's a very good in college life

Dislikes

College infrastructure is not good bcoz our classes in maharshi kannad bhawan
Our college not provided hostel bcoz our building is under construction

Admission:

My JEE rank was very low In my rank this is best decision for me I belong Madhya Pradesh and this college provide me 90% scholarship and delhi location is good in terms of placement and carrier opportunity in future Jee main exam is required Cutoff cse general under 90k ECE 1.1lakh EE 1.3 lakh Admission experience is smooth

College review for FOT

Likes

Supportive faculties in study wise and real growth support if you need it.
Labs and Syllabus are latest and up to date, so really not a problem on that. And if you do need components for yourself you can ask the college and get it easily

Dislikes

College on it's own doesn't do any Cultural events or Freshers, there's a lot of process and Headaches to get it.

Admission:

I did sit in Josaa and applied for other pvt. college and yes i did got into NIT Delhi but in the Non Tech branch. Obviously, didn't had any interest in those and neither wanted to waste my money in a Pvt. college and live off on some debt. So i thought it was better to opt for this college, and till now i don't completely regret my decision.

I like the infrastructure of my college. College have provided us AC rooms with clean washrooms. Qualified teachers. Maintained decorum. Most important it is a government college.
Smart classes are available in every room. Cantens are available.
There are many labs for every subject either it's of EE, ECE, CSE

Dislikes

New college so there are no societies or clubs.
Fees is too high for general category students.
No facilities of hostel available in our college

I chose this college over other colleges because this is a government college and it is under Delhi University whose NIRF ranking is very good. Also I was getting Electrical engineering which is a nice branch to flourish our future. I don't wanna go for private colleges because in those colleges there is no guarantee for a good placement and in other government colleges. Secondly, I looked at long-term career outcomes. L I didn't get Electrical Engineering branch I was getting a lower branch for which I don't want to pursue. There is high demand for electrical engineers and also I like physics which is used in the subjects of Electrical Engineering.Also I wanted to experience the life of Delhi University people.and there are also many other opportunities we can go for. Studying in Delhi University means you are not just in a university, you are in a ecosystem. The student body is incredibly diverse, with people coming from every State in India and many countries around the world. This exposure to different cultures, languages, and perspectives in an education in itself. Also Delhi University is famous for its dynamic and energetic campus life. So I decided to come here and experience something vast and new.

Campus life at Delhi University's Faculty of Technology

Likes

Some Faculties are very good. They help a lot in all types of projects, assignment.

Dislikes

They don't have their own campus. I think after 2027 they will have their own campus
Fee is too high and living in delhi is too caslty

Admission:

i chose this institution for its esteemed reputation and opportunity to be part of pioneering Btech Program. The admission process required a valid JEE Mains Scores, I got a sit in NIT Srinagar but the branch is Biotech, and here i got ECE.

Faculty of Technology, Delhi University North Campus

Likes

The campus is quite huge with a very diverse crowd. Moreover, the location has several advantages due to the presence of multiple other colleges in the same vicinity. This makes it easier to meet like minded people.
Most of the faculty is highly qualified having a very vast knowledge base. Most professors show keen interest in the overall development of the students and tend to involve themselves amongst the students.

Dislikes

The absence of clubs and socities is a major con. Tech clubs are one of the most important aspects of any engineering college and its absence can severly hinder the efficiency and the potential of the students.
The crowd, being diverse, has students from very different sections of the society. This makes it difficult to socialise considering many of these students have not received much formal education.
The administration department lacks professionalism and doesn't pay much heed to the needs of the student. Considering the amount of fees being paid, the services that are offered are definitely not upto the mark.

Admission:

Just like any other engineering student, the goal was always cracking an IIT. Apart from the JEE Mains and Advanced Examinations, i appeared for a few private institutes as well like BITS, VIT, MIT, KIIT and also for the MHTCET Examination for the engineering colleges within Maharashtra. I lacked preparation for the Advanced Examination and thus couldnt secure a rank good enough to crack the top 8 IIT's. I finally settled for the Vellore Institute of Technology, Bhopal Campus with Core Computer Science Engineering. The entire admission process was complete but I decided to withdraw after i was allotted a seat here in the Faculty of Technology, Delhi University. The major parameter for comparison was the location followed by the level of exposure and the scope of opportunities offered. Moreover, the restrictive environment of VIT was a deal-breaker. The admission procedure to FoT was relatively simple. They take admissions on the basis of the rank an individual secures in the JEE Main examination. One thing to be noted though is the fact that it requires a separate registration for seat allocation as this college isnt affiliated to JOSAA.

FOT DU - A chance?

Likes

The infrastrurcture is quite amazing despite its classes are running on temporary building. The building is on construction phase therefore quite missing the campus life. We just spent our time in visiting North campus areas.
The Girls to Boy ratio is quite low and this is not a surprising thing as it always happen in an engineering college.
The Faculties are nice , they did their masters from reputed colleges. There are also many retired professors from Dtu and Nsut who are helping to make this college grow and function properly.

Dislikes

The management is the most that i disliked the most . They are always late in their work and just giving excuses to the problems issued by the students .

Admission:

I choose this college as i got fees remisssion here. The Delhi University also has a very reputed name . Hope this college will prosper in future. For applying in this college you have to give jee mains. I also got selected in DTU but can't take admission there because i can't allocate fees for that. Here i applied only for ece and ee but got ee because i gave upper prefernece to ee over ece lol.

FoT , the Begining

Likes

Classes are held in temporary building , but the building is cool asf and worth it .
All the equipments in the labs are new and operative . Even the computers in the labs are worth more than 2 lakhs , and are heavily invested.
Teachers are good and helpful . They actually answer the questions. And the pattern is somehow similar to the IITs.

Dislikes

Gender ratio is somehow not good . Less no. Of girls are there .
For now hostel facility is not there , but in future it will be there maybe .

Admission:

One reason I opted for this college is the name and brand of the University of Delhi . Also the location . Since the FoT is new , there is a proud of being in one of the first batches. I was getting UIET Chandigarh , Punjab University which above average . But I opted for this , as location is good for placements and name is also a brand .the teachers are also working hard to make this college better .

FOT DU ECE

Likes

Labs and classrooms are newly established
Teachers are from DTU NSUT DU(department of mathematics, physics and astro physics)
There are other value added course, General electives, practical courses, AECs

Dislikes

Hostels are not available as it is a part of Delhi University
The accommodation outside University is quite costly if you are looking for a single room
The teachers are not lenient about attendance

Admission:

it is a government institution. It has its basis from the university which established DTU NSUT IGDTU. It is very selective about the number of students. it is in North campus of Delhi University, just besides vice chancellors office. in private institutions. A person can easily fade in the crowd of thousands of people in one batch only, but here there are only 350 students per batch which gives students individuality.

I had applied to DTU , NSUT , some NITs also but there I was getting mechanical or Electrical branches. So I took admission here without any regret . DU is best know for its academic excellence & a very strong alumni network

Faculty of Technology (DU) - review

Likes

The good part is that the college environment is more inclined towards coding culture and computer science related subjects.
The curriculum is according to the new education policy which enables students to choose diff subjects accordingly.
The faculties are highly educated, most of them are form IIT, NIT, IIITS and they are very good in their subjects.

Dislikes

Lack of extra-curricular activities is there
As the college is started in 2023 only, so there are no societies/ clubs in college.
Hostel facility is also not available there.

the student must have passed class 12th with 60% marks in physics, chemistry and maths aggregate. the admission is done on the basis on JEE mains rank and cutoff of BTECH CSE Branch in 2023 was around 60000 rank for general category. appplication form is submitted online on the official website of DU btech admissions last date for BTECH registration is 5 june 2024 as of now, it may be extended later. application fees is 1500 rupees for general, OBC and EWS candidates. reservation policy is there, seats are reserved for diiferent categories including OBC, EWS, SC, ST, orphan quota and PWD quota.
