National Institute of Design (NID), Assam, also known as NID Jorhat, is an autonomous Institution of National Importance established in 2019 under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. NID Assam Courses and Fees
NID Jorhat currently offers a Bachelor of Design (B.Des) degree for a duration of 4 Years at the undergraduate level. B.Des at NID Assam is offered in three design specializations namely Communication Design, Industrial Design, and Textile & Apparel Design. NID Assam Admission 2025
Admission to NID Assam is based on the score obtained by the candidates in the NID Design Aptitude Test, popularly known as NID DAT. NID DAT consists of two stages namely DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. Candidates who meet the eligibility for NID Assam Admission will have to first appear for NID DAT Prelims. Based on the merit of the students in NID DAT Prelims, they will be shortlisted for NID DAT Mains. The final admission will be based on the sum total of the weighted scores obtained by the candidates in NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains.
Candidates will have to appear for NID DAT Counselling for the allocation of seats for admission to NID Assam. The allocation will be strictly based on the merit list, the category of the candidates, and the seats offered by the institute. Once allocated a seat, the candidates will have to accept the seat, appear for document verification, and pay the course fee for admission confirmation.
