Engineering at psg from the eyes of a 1st year student

Likes

The crowd is very fun and friendly, its easy to mingle with everyone
The hostel life is very enjoyable if you have good friends
involvement in sports and other activities are encouraged

Dislikes

mess food is mediocre at most of the days
Somedays the workload is a bit high but manageabe
Cultural events are a bit lackluster and mediocre

Placement Experience:

The placements here are above average according to me, The condition of the market is really bad especially for core jobs, but still students are getting placed for top packages (12+LPA). Even if you dont get placed you will get exposed to several oppurtinities for higher studies .

Good atmosphere, 5 hours of college everyday from Monday to Friday

Likes

In department of economics faculties are really friendly and they help you whenever needed. Doubts can be clarified even after class hours.
For BA ECONOMICS (Self financed ) college time is afternoon 1 pm to 6 pm. So you can do other extracurricular activities other than this timing.
Course curriculum is not so complicated.

Dislikes

Placements for BA economics is not so good as compared to Bcom.
Internship Is compulsory which should be done by students itself without any help from college management.
Rules are more strict for girls than compared to boys .

Placement Experience:

From final year onwards students are eligible for placements. Manu corporate companies visit like Deloitte, Accenture, EY etc.. To be honest there is no wide variety of opportunities for placements in economics department unlike computer science or bcom departments.

Academic Excellence, all the staffs are doctorate holders in particular department and have at least 10 years of teaching experience
Extracurricular Activities, Every week any of the department will conduction functions and competitions
Infrastructure, Its a green campus with good canteen, library, smart classrooms, updated labs and more

Dislikes

PSG CAS, doesn't provide college transport facilities
Its have various timings for different courses
Some times its needed to stay after college hours

Placement Experience:

PSG has strong placement record with CTC upto 16LPA i various companies, the average package is 3LPA. And all the placements interested students are well trained with Company Specific Training prior to particular companies.

I really love the Infrastructure that they are maintaining inside the city with less place
I really loved the facilities that they are providing to the students to get the skills out from then
And the mist thing the food in canteen is so good

PSG College of Technology LIFE

Likes

Good infrastructure, and good hostel infrastructure l. Good place to study.
There is No restrictions for attendence. Min attendence should be 75 %. So we will study enjoyment.
Teaching is good, the students with basic knowledge about science and technology can easily adopt the environment of teaching in this college.

Dislikes

Hostel rooms are at 4th floor has only steps no lift for that.
Library books are kept yourself for only 14 days . You return within 14 days otherwise fine on extra days.
Correct of paper is a huge scam. There are many partialities on providing marks, but even it seen we can't question it.

Placement Experience:

Here Placement are very good. For CS and IT placement packages around 1 crore per annum are available. For mechanical it starting from 12 lakhs per annum. ECE and all 60 lakhs per annum. The requirements of the students is CGPA of 8 and above. PLACEMENT WELL HANDELED BY ACADEMY.

My journey at PSG

Likes

Excellent placement training and opportunities
Friendly staff and teaching. Faculties are ready to assist us anytime
Good lab facilities and we can use any lab even for our own educational purposes

Dislikes

Hostel facility is not upto the fee collected
Since teaching staffs are appointed as warden, to get sign in the leave form it's very difficult to find them in the campus and get sign
Very long college hours and mostly no holiday will be given on Saturday

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since the college is an affiliated one they have to follow the course designed by the university which is quite outdated. To overcome this, the college has some value added course that helps the students. One area that needs to be improved is students should have the freedom to choose the elective courses as per their interest

The campus is very beautiful, and clean.
Teachers are mostly friendly and helpful in project and internships.
Our college have various club activities and association, which is very useful.

Dislikes

Our college have very strict dress code for boys and girls
The sports facilities are very limited to few sports
They only focus on academics, not for various cultural activities

Placement Experience:

The college placement cell is very helpful and active though out the final year, They will try their best to get you placed. Many companies will come for placements, On average totally 50% got placed till now. The average package is 6LPA.

The college takes for an international trip were it is called as business beyond borders and it is credit course which I liked the most
The subjects which they provide are close to the Market trend and need, so it is useful
For 2 semester there is a course called active learning program and I liked the most which gave connection and bonding among my fellow students

Dislikes

For some subjects they should hire better industry expert staffs

Placement Experience:

After 2 semester students are eligible for campus placement More than 70 companies visit campus and I made one offer as they have a policy of one student one offer and they also provide dream package offer for all students even if they have offer already Highest package is 17 LPA and average is 7.5 LPA Profiles like consultant, manager, analyst, management trainee etc., It's about 98-100 percent placements guaranteed My plan is to get into the job

Prestigious college and has good placement percentage
The green ambience makes it more pleasant
The teaching methods are appreciatable..

Dislikes

The college canteen needed much improvement and the cost of the food is increasing every sem but the food quality remains the same and and it's not even worth the money . The canteen may include variety of food
Most of the faculty behaves very rude towards students some of them don't even respect them
Poor culutrals and events the college could improve on that
