A complete guide if u are opting for Barak valley engineering college.

Likes

Calm and pleasant enviornment. Have small shops inside campus for refreshment.
Screnity of the atmosphere and good local people.

Dislikes

College infrastructure could have been better.
Teaching stuff could have been more promising.
In campus placement for mechanical and civil engineering students needs most improvement.

I personally applied for Dibrugarh University, Assam Engineering College, Tezpur University, and Jorhat Engineering College but got the preference in Barak Valley Engineering College. I was being called from this perticular college for admission process. I couldn't make it to other colleges as the cutoff is higher in those colleges.

College is situated in a greenery area, it’s situated in a good location with lots of greenery and lakes and ponds , as a newly build college the infrastructure is good as an engineering college
Playground are there for college students and there is a lake inside our college campus, college canteen are there .
Hostel facilities are there for both boys and girls as well as for facilities also.

Dislikes

As i said college is situated in a greenery area but it’s very far from town availability is very low people often doesn’t recognise where this college is situated. Shops are also not available near college.It’s obvious because college is newly build
As this college is situated in Barak region which is in ASSAM but 98% people doesn’t know to how to talk in Assamese , so a communication barrier crates between the students and local people.
College Labs are there but not properly managed and developed

Admission:

I applied for many college like Assam Engineering college, Jorhat Engineering College and Barak Valley engineering college and i got into BVEC, because my main focus was on two departments first is Computer Science Engineering and the second is Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering . This three colleges provide Electronic department. Yes i did get rejected from both college because my rank was low because I was giving partial drop , i was in a potytechnique before going to B.Tech college. Admission process is easy first they select you and then call for physical verification where they take 6-8 thousand from you and then they call you for final admission where they take 9-10 thousand, to get into this college you must need to conduct COMMON ENTRANCE EXAM(CEE) handles by ASSAM SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY, cut off are is you rank is 2000-4000 your eligible for our college and our college rank is in 4th out of 7 college by the under of ASTU.

Remote area that gives you a calm place, far from noisy town, fresh air
Helpful community of students, friendly bonding
Easily approachable faculty staffs, fast developing college

Dislikes

Lack of a proper reading room in the college campus
Lack generator service whenever any electricity cut off
Road connectivity is not so good, however there's an ongoing project of 4 lane highway

Eligibility: 1. 12th or equivalent with 60% in PCM & English 2. Age should be between 18-21 years as per the 1st August of that respective year All the admission related information and notices publishes on the college website.

The things mostly I like faculties and their way of teachings
The Infrastructure is alsi very good and clean
Library and Canteen are also there and these are alsi very clean

Dislikes

Actually everything is good there is nothing to dislike
And just Canteen's food should be more hygienic
And there should be a NCC unit for students

If I talk about the admission process first You all have to give an entrance exam that is CEE Combined Entrance Examination fir this you have to eligible and for the eligibility you must have physics , chemistry and Maths subject in your HS .

Likes

The college campus is quite beautiful and amidst nature.
The college has a boys and a girls hostel with a canteen and a Library.

Dislikes

The college lies in a village which has some internet issues.
The faculty comprises of some great teachers but some could have been better.

I liked the aura of competitions within the students and zeal among the students and faculties towards innovation.
Principal of this college is awesome, he counsels students regarding the career making decision. He is a good teacher too.

Dislikes

Labs equipment are yet to be fully installed.
Issue with the electricity, water. There is a electricity cut during rainy season.

Admission:

Eligibility - Above 50% in aggregate of PCM in class 12 final exam. On the official website of BVEC Reservation is as per the clause and rules provided by the Assam govt. as it is a Govt. college. It's going smoothly till date.

Likes

Very supportive, and well behaved faculties, we are very much grateful to them. Our Principal Sir is very supportive and much friendlier to each and every student.
Seniors are very helpful, We have a clean and firm bond with seniors and juniors overall friendly environment.

Dislikes

Transportation due to pathetic condition of road is an issue , hopefully it will be developed in coming years.

College is nice and improving year by year!

Admission:

A student must have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board in the Science stream. The student should have at least 60% in HS to apply for the exam. Admissions are taken ONLY through CEE Exam, which is a state-level engineering entrance exam. Every year the conducting body(ASTU/DTE, Assam) releases applications from their website. Students can fill it out online and submit all the necessary documents. Application dates are generally between January to March. After the exam, based on your state ranks, students are called for counseling at Guwahati, Assam where they are allowed seats in various engineering colleges in Assam.

Remarks:

Infrastructure is up to the mark. Both CSE & ETE dept have their own buildini with labs connected with jiofibre for low latency high speed internet connection. Library is available. Sports like cricket and football are played alternate days in the south field of the campus. Boys Hostel and Girls Hostel is present which has an attached Mess with good quality food which charges 2750 per month. Food served by caterer with hygienic environment. The hostel is clean which is cleaned regularly.

There is an exam namely Combined Entrance Exam. It is conducted by Assam Science and Technology University. It is a university based in Guwahati, Assam. It is run by the state government of Assam. Every year the exam is being conducted by the same university to get into various state government engineering colleges of Assam. I have given the foresaid exam and got selected in it.
