IK Gujaral Punjab Technical University is situated in Jalandhar, Punjab and was established in the year 1997. PTU Distance Education wing offers various under graduate and post graduate courses of two years and three years duration.

The minimum qualification required for all the graduate courses under PTU DDE, the candidate must have passed 10+2 in the related stream.
For all the lateral entry courses, the candidate must have done 3-year Polytechinic Diploma or should have passed 10+2 with diploma of one year.
For MCA, M.Sc. IT and MA JMC, the candidates should be a graduate in the related subject.
For MCA (Lateral Entry), the candidate should have done BCA or B.Sc. (IT/CS) of 3-year duration with at least 50% marks in the qualifying degree.
The application for all the courses can only be submitted in the offline mode.

PTU Distance Education BCA, B.Sc. IT, BBA, B.Com., BJMC Admission 2023

PT Distance Education offers seven courses under its under graduate belt. Under all the bachelor programs the candidate should have passed intermediate or an equivalent degree in the required stream or should have done matriculation followed by 3-year Diploma in any trade from a recognized board, except for the lateral entry programs under which the candidate must have done Polytechinic Diploma OR PASSED 10+2 with diploma of one year with Mathematics as a compulsory subject at either 10+2 level or graduation level. The admissions under all the programs will be merit based.

B.Com.	Passed 10+2 of Punjabi School Education Board or any other exam recognized as equivalent with minimum 33% aggregate marks in case of commerce stream. OR Passed 10+2 with minimum 40% who had opted for 2 of the following commerce subjects: Accounts, Economics, Business Studies, Mathematics, Office Management and Secretarial Practice, Principles and Practice of Insurance, Tax Procedure and Practice. OR 45% minimum marks in 10+2 for other candidates.		3 years

PTU Distance Education MCA, M.Sc. IT And MJMC Admission 2023

PTU through its Distance Education offers various PG courses like MCA, MCA (Lateral Entry), M.Sc. IT and MA (JMC) courses. The eligibility for MCA, M.Sc. IT and MA JMC is that the candidate must have done graduation in the related subject except for MCA (Lateral Entry), where the candidate must have done BCA or B.Sc. (IT/CS) with at least 50% marks, which should be of 3-year duration with Mathematics as a compulsory subject either at 10+2 level or at graduate level. The selection will be based on marks in the qualifying degree.

PTU Distance Education Application Process 2023

The candidate who wants to apply to any of the courses provided, can do so either by sending a DD along with the application form or by visiting the university campus and making the payment through debit or credit card. Follow the given steps to make the submission:

Visit the university website.
Click on the prospectus.
Go to the end of the prospectus and fill the application form provided there. ‘
Submit the application form along with the fee to the university.

Payment of the fee through DD

Demand draft has to be drawn in favour of Registrar IKGPTU and payable at Jalandhar.
Also write your name, course applied, semester, mobile number, email ID at the back of the Demand Draft.
Then it has to be attached with the application form and submitted to the University address either in person or through Registered/Speed Post only (Don’t send through Courier) at the following address:-

Payment of the fee through Credit/ Debit card at the University campus

The candidate can visit the university campus and pay the registration fee through credit or debit card.

PTU Distance Education Reservation Criteria

Candidates who are Defense Personnel or ex – servicemen or are the wards of the people from defense background, will be given 25% concession in tuition fee by the university. To avail fee waiver, the candidate will be required to submit an authentic proof of it.
The employees of Punjab Technical University will be entitled for full concession and their wards will stand entitled for 50% concession of course fee.
Post Matric Scholarship Scheme – This is the scholarship which is run for those SC/ST candidates whose family income from all sources is less than 2.5 lac. To avail this scheme, the candidate has to submit a caste certificate and income proof.
There is also a provision by the university to provide fee concession to the physically handicapped candidates. The percentage of fee concession will depend on the percentage of disability.

Great College for Distance Education

Admission:

When I completed my under graduation I wanted to get admission in a college whicj provided me distance education so I went to this college in Punjab and fill out the application form via online mode. I paid the registration fee in the form of demand draft. My name was thus included in the merit list of the college.
