Bangalore School of Design, formerly known as the Bangalore School of Interior Designing, was established in 2015. The institute is affiliated to Bengaluru North University and accredited by the Council of Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). BSD offers courses such as B.Des, B.Sc, BVA, Dual Bachelors, Diploma, and PGDM.

Admissions to all courses are based on merit in the qualifying examination.
Preference will be given to candidates with a National Level Entrance Test score.
Applications will be accepted online.
Eligibility for the UG and Diploma courses is also 10 + 2 with English as one of the subjects.
Eligibility for the PGDM course is a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.

Bangalore School of Design also provides scholarships. To apply for scholarships, candidates must submit a portfolio too while applying for admissions. Accommodation facilities are also available. Each of the courses has a mentor-mentee ratio of 1:6.

The duration of the B.A and B.Sc courses are 3 years each, while the durations of BVA and Dual Bachelors courses are 4 years each.

The duration of the PGDM course and Diploma in Interior Design is 1 year each.
The duration of the Diploma in HCI is 6 months and is conducted on weekends only.

How to Apply for Bangalore School of Design?

Admissions to all courses are on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. There is no entrance test conducted, but preference will be given to candidates who have qualified a National Level Entrance Test. The steps to apply are mentioned below.

Bangalore School of Design Scholarships

The institute offers scholarships to students who show exceptional talent in academics or Creativity. A total of 20 scholarships are given to UG students, and 10 scholarships to Diploma students. The maximum value for the scholarship is as follows:

INR 50000 for UG students
INR 250000 for Diploma students

After receiving admissions, candidates can fill in a separate form to apply for a scholarship. The documents to be attached with the form are:

Ans. No, admissions are conducted on a rolling basis. This means that as long as space remains in the University, applicants can be admitted. However, there are recommended application deadlines, which are mandatory for those applying for scholarships.

Ques. Are there accomodation facilities provided?

Ans. Yes, there are two separate hostels for boys and girls. The facilities include furnished rooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, quality food, 24/7 security, laundry facilities, and close proximity to campus.

Ques. Do I need a portfolio to apply?

Ans. No, portfolios are required only by candidates applying for scholarships. Those applying should include 10-15 pieces of fine art, made by hand, such as painting, molding, sculpting, etc.

Admission:

I select this course as this course offers a promising career to students in India as well as abroad. Interior designing is an active profession, one will never get bored of it. I got admission in this course on the basis of my marks in 10+2 examination. The college offers direct admission in the course followed by simple interview session.

Admission:

I choose Interior designing as I love to transform raw spaces into attractive rooms and i am creative and i have technical skill set in me which is very necessary for this course. I had applied directly to the college. BSD conducts a Design Aptitude test for all the interested candidates each year for B.Sc. in Interior design. I had cleared the test with more than 60% grade marks and then I was called for an interview. After which I was selected and had to submit my certificates and pay the fees for the course.

Admission:

I had submitted an online application along with scanned certificates that were necessary. After which I had to write a Design Aptitude test conducted by the college. I had scored more than 60% and hence I was called for an interview. I got selected in the interview and had to pay my fees for the course.
