NID Ahmedabad Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Ans. NID DAT Prelims is the shortlisting round for NID admissions. NID DAT Prelims comprises a written entrance exam that candidates need to appear for and clear to be eligible for NID DAT Mains.

The per semester fee for M.Des at NID is INR 2,28,500.

Ans. The NID entrance exam is considered to be the most difficult design entrance exam in the country. In NID DAT, more emphasis is placed on thematic, drawing-related questions. Ans. The NID Exam is held in two stages. The first stage is the preliminary exam. The exam will comprise 2 papers. Ans. For the NID DAT entrance exam, there are 3 rounds in total. Applicants first have to apply online and fill in the application form. Then, aspirants have to appear for the DAT prelims examination and qualify for the merit criteria. Then applicants will be called for the main exam and personal interview. Then lastly, merit lists will be released by the design institute confirming the admissions. 

Ans. Yes, students pursuing Ph.D. get fellowship at the National Institute of Design (NID). The fellowship is given for the initial 3 years only and discontinued afterwards.

Ans. The students with disabilities are advised to arrange for their scribe. Students have to make sure that the scribe has a valid scribe affidavit to be eligible to become a scribe for the PwD student.

Ans. Aspirants need to appear for the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) entrance exam which comprises two entrance test rounds and a personal interview round. The NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains are the two objective and subjective tests respectively. Candidates who clear NID DAT Prelims are only allowed to appear for NID DAT Mains.
