KOIMS - MY EXPERIENCE

Likes

Faculty are very teaching oriented and supportive.
The hostels are good enough given that it's a govt college
Campus is located in a peaceful and calm locality

Dislikes

The campus is located a bit far from town making it difficult for connectivity
No proper in campus sports ground except for a few sports.

Internships Opportunities:

As it is a medical college there are no placements, but 1 year internship is provided where students learn a lot and gain practical knowledge. They are posted across all departments to gain wide range of exposure.

Teachers are friendly and teaches the concepts nicely
Hostel furniture and rooms are good and clean
There will be no disturbance from outside because it is situated in forest AQ

Dislikes

Food won't be good sometimes and we may not like

Internships Opportunities:

In intership we have work in village hospital and get interaction with patients and we have to treat patients and get exposed to society like we have to do it for one year completly after that our degree will be completed

I liked our campus so much that it is located at top of the mountain.

Dislikes

Only the water problem is there otherwise overall it is good collage

Internships Opportunities:

In our Karnataka the demand for government seat for MBBS is very high and during internship the stipend is also good. During internship some tough times as there is continue 36 hours duty on hospital and also it can help you a lot on experiencing a practice.

Its is situated in a very nice place with beautiful nature surrounded
Seniors are cool if you are cool just stay nice and respectful
You are separated from the town so you are away from many other distractions

Dislikes

No transport facility you need your own bike to travel
Management is not that good needs improvement
Hostel is having many problems and water shortage

There is no placement and campus selection in medical education and you have to write neet or next exam for masters and again it all depends on you And don't go sideways you have to be determined and practice from beginning for competitive exams keep in mind

Life in kodagu institute of medical science

Likes

The location is very nice situation in the hilltop which is very refreshing
Staff is very nice and helpfull during exams
Fests are organized on a large scale very entertaining, they call famous music bands too

Dislikes

Attendance is very strictly followed your attendance also depends on the students attitude towards the staff and assignments
They concentrate too much on unnecessary assignments

Internships Opportunities:

Like all medical college here too we have internship of 1 year where we work in multispeciality to practice or skills as doctor. The college also gives opportunity to go to other prestigious medical institutes and attend workshops and gain hands on experiences

Internship will be done at the college hospital. Internship is after the Final Year Professional exam. Internship is for one year and the stipend is around 30 thousand a month. Students will have to vacate the hostel and stay in the city

I love the atmosphere. It's very peaceful, the trees. The climate is just beautiful. It is also near to my home so that's why I can travel easily. Almost all people there talk my mother tongue, so that gives me a feeling of home. Campus is very good.
Campus is very vast. There are 3 blocks very near to each other. Campus is very vast for walking with friends in the evening. Coorg being a tourist place, it's very good to hangout with friends, go for trips. College has a gym. Labs teachers are good
Seniors are very helpful. Actually very helpful than teachers. They lent us books, bone set help us during our internals and final year. College fest is very nice. Me being a rep, I enjoy and also work a lot towards our fest. They are the best.......

Dislikes

City is very far. So it's very difficult to go if we have to buy some items immediately. Riskshaw cost is 150 , so for travelling once we need to spend 200 rupees. Water problem is also there. Water comes only once or twice a day. We have to storee..

Internships Opportunities:

Internship is done in our district hospital which is affiliated to our college. A stipend of 30,00 -35,000 is given to our interns. They are very friendly and also have great knowledge. After completing one year of internship, they get graduated. Graduation ceremony is conducted by our college seniors and they are given farewell after one year in a grand way

Far away from town as the noise pollution will be decreased to minimum
Opportunities are enough provided to showcase the talents.
Extra-curricular activities are taken positively wth good support.

Dislikes

Lack of exposure because the college is far way from town
As it is distanced 4-5 kilometers from town the accessibility is less
Accessibility like getting things for daily chores is less

The beauty and the peace of the nature in Madikeri around our college
The curricular and extra curricular activities
Labs and classrooms are good and better comparatively

Dislikes

The fungus due to continuous rain in monsoon
College is a bit far from city to experience the city beauty frequently

Internships Opportunities:

There'll be 1 year internship after 4 years of MBBS. Stipend currently might be around 28000 but it may increase. There'll be activities in MBBS And internship too where we can interact with people and serve them

Our college has its own hospital. They give us internshhip opportunity.with stipend.the college has given us a maximum stipend from others. The hospital posting also there for second to fourth year students
