MITSOM College Pune: Admission 2026, Fees, Courses, Cutoff, Ranking, Placement

One of my friends was in PUMBA and he told me that there is no comparison of PUMBA with MITSOM because of some straightforward facts.

• Admission for OBC and Open students cutoffs are more at PUMBA than MITSOM; it is almost above 97%. But MITSOM is much lower than it.
• The best thing about PUMBA is ROI. The fee for MBA is 1,30,000 only. MITSOM has three or four times more than PUMBA.
• When it comes to placements, every year at least 85% of batch grab and offer for placement gets placed at PUMBA.

Many top recruiting companies participate in their placement program like Microsoft, Infosys, Accenture, HCL, Nestle, Reliance, TCS, IBM, L&T, Capgemini, KPMG, AutoNinja, Aditya Birla, etc.

My sister did her bachelor’s degree in engineering from MIT and MBA from Indira Institute of Management. So, I have some ideas about both the institutes. 

Among the above institutes, Indira Institute of Management is much better than MIT SOM for a management degree, considering the overall development of students in Indira Institute of Management.

Comparison:

• MIT is considered to be one of the best colleges for B.Tech in Pune. But MIT School of Management is not up to the standard of the Indira Institute of Management.
• MBA in Indira Institute of Management has a much better curriculum and infrastructure for the overall development of its students.
• Indira Institute of Management conducts an excellent soft-skill program, which includes life problem solving, consulting selling, negotiation skills, etc in the MBA curriculum, which is very helpful for students.

Considering the above factors, it is safe to say Indira Institute of Management is a much better option for MBA or PGPM than MIT SOM, with an overall better placement record.

Maharashtra Institute of Technology gives 100% placements to its students. MITSOM also gives 100% placements to the students. Looking at the year-wife statistics, the salary offered to the students has increased as compared to the previous year’s data. About 100+ companies participated in the on-campus selections in MIT Pune. On the other hand, about 250+ companies visited MITSOM for placements.

Top Recruiters:

• Some of the top recruiters of MITSOM include Deloitte, Amazon, Infosys, Barclay’s, TATA Technologies, Berger, etc.

• On the other hand, the companies visiting MIT (Maharashtra Institute of Technology) are Amazon, Infosys, Flipkart, Oracle, IBM, Wipro, Microsoft, Reliance, Aditya Birla Group, Tech Mahindra, etc.

Package offered

MITSOM:

• INR 26 LPA was the highest salary offered by an international company.

• INR of about 9 LPA was the highest salary offered in the on-campus selections by a domestic company.

• The average salary offered to the students was INR 5 LPA in the university.

MIT (Maharashtra Institute of Technology):

• The highest package offered to the students was INR 37.26 LPA.

• The average package offered to the students was INR 3.2 LPA in the on-campus selections of the university.

Overall the placements of MIT as well as MITSOM are almost equivalent. The student seeking admissions can look for other information also like how is the course structure, teaching staff, total expenditure, city life, infrastructure, etc, and then take the decision. Knowledge is the key to success, so get yourself well educated which will automatically lead you to a better placement.

MITSOM and IMED are both premier B schools based in Pune. While both have their own merit, they do differ a lot when it comes to attendance, college timings as well as expenses on books. Here, MITSOM tops IMED in all categories. Moreover, MITSOM also offers a diverse variety of students coming from different countries and states.

• The highest package offered at IMED is 54.08 lakhs per annum with an average package of 7.5 lakhs per annum.
• Some of the top recruiters at IMED include Amazon, ITC, Reliance, Aditya Birla, Tech Mahindra, TCS among others.

Other than these, IMED has highly accomplished faculty teaching students with 90% holding a Ph.D. degree. Those at MITSOM have master’s degrees. Campus wise, some of the facilities available at IMED include libraries, computer labs, hostels, and gyms among others. Those available at MITSOM’s 25-acre campus include computer labs, cafeterias, student relaxation rooms, study areas within libraries, and more. If placement is the major concern for an applicant, IMED is a safer option.
