Admission to the institute is done both on a merit basis. For admission into UG programs, 10+2 marks followed by TNEA counseling are taken into consideration. For PG programs, M.Tech candidates have to clear TANCET followed by TANCA counseling.

Following is the admission process needs to be followed by the students at Muthayammal College of Engineering:

• Visit the official website of TNEA 2020. Click on the tab application form.
• Enter your name,mobile number, email id, qualifying exam, Hsc Registration Number, Date of Birth and year of passing.
• The password has to be generated yourselves. 
• You will have to submit the OTP which will be sent to the registered mobile number.
• After the registration, login using the username and ID.
• Upload all the required documents
• The final step is to make the payment. One can pay using Netbanking, Credit/ Debit card.

Following are the documents required at the time of admission

• Class 10th marksheet
• Class 12th marksheet or 3-year diploma certificate
• Transfer certificates
• Scorecard of respective entrance exam (TANCET or GATE) 
• Permanent community certificate
• Certificate of disability (if applicable)
• Nativity Certificate (if applicable)
• Copy of Identification Certificate obtained from the Head Quarters Tahsildar.
