KiTE MBA FAQs
Ques. Is TANCET the only exam accepted for MBA admission at KGISL KiTE, or are CAT/MAT scores also valid?
Ans. For government quota seats allocated through the centralised TN MBA/MCA counselling, TANCET is the primary accepted exam. However, KiTE also accepts CAT, MAT, and XAT scores for management quota admissions. Students who have appeared in these national-level exams can directly approach the college for management quota admission without waiting for TANCET counselling.
Ques. The total MBA fee is listed as INR 35,000 for 2 years - is this the complete fee or are there hidden charges?
Ans. The INR 35,000 is the government-regulated tuition fee for the entire 2-year MBA programme as per Tamil Nadu norms. However, students should be aware that there may be additional charges such as exam fees, lab fees, and other miscellaneous charges that are collected separately each semester. It is advisable to confirm the complete fee breakup with the college administration at the time of admission.
Ques. What specialisations are available in the MBA programme at KiTE, and can I choose two specialisations?
Ans. Yes, KiTE's MBA programme allows students to opt for dual specialisations. The functional specialisations available are Finance Management, Marketing Management, Operations Management, Business Analytics, and Human Resource Management. The sectoral specialisations include Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Infrastructure and Real Estate Management, and Tourism Management. Students choose 3 subjects from each of their two chosen specialisation areas.
Ques. How are placements for MBA students at KGISL KiTE? What is the average package?
Ans. The MBA programme at KiTE has a modest but consistent placement record. As per NIRF 2025 data, the median package for PG students (including MBA) is INR 3.19 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, HCL, Capgemini, and Accenture. The placement cell provides pre-placement training, mock interviews, and connects students with industry professionals. Given the small batch size of 60 students, individual attention during placement preparation is relatively better.
Ques. Is hostel accommodation available for MBA students at KiTE? What are the facilities and charges?
Ans. Yes, KiTE provides separate hostel accommodation for both male and female students. The hostel fee is approximately INR 66,000 per year (inclusive of mess charges). Facilities include furnished rooms, Wi-Fi, laundry, common room, TV room, water cooler, and 24x7 security. The boys hostel has 193 rooms and the girls hostel has 125 rooms. Hostel accommodation is optional and not mandatory for MBA students.
Ques. The MBA programme is affiliated to Anna University - does this mean the degree is from Anna University or from KiTE?
Ans. KiTE is an autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University. This means the MBA degree is awarded by Anna University, but the curriculum, examinations, and academic processes are managed autonomously by KiTE. The autonomous status allows KiTE to design its own curriculum (which is more industry-aligned), while the degree certificate carries the Anna University name, which is widely recognised by employers across Tamil Nadu and India.
