Review for B.Sc. Applied Psychology Course

Likes

The course structure was academically quite rigorous.
The faculty are excellent and go above and beyond for the students.
The course has a compulsory summer internship during 2nd year which provides on the field experience.

Dislikes

The college administration makes simple things unnecessarily complicated, it's very bureaucractic.
The attendance policy is extremely strict, 80% has to be maintained.
The course can is at a much higher level and can be demanding for students at a Bachelor Level as it includes Masters Level content.

Internships Opportunities:

Some of the organizations include Advitya and Thane Mental Hospital, there is no stipend for internships in my course. There are internships available for different areas of psychology like Clinical, Counselling and Industrial Psychology.

Likes

The course structure and the syllabus flow is amazing compared to other courses offering the same degree.
The teachers are highly approachable and the learning environment is nurturing
Focus on research and practical skill development.

Dislikes

The campus is small and overcrowded, gets crowded .
To many students in one classroom , the teacher can’t focus on everyone
Have to sit in the mithibai building instead of the NMIMS building

Internships Opportunities:

There are opportunities with various NGOs and hospitals, they just help you connect , rest all is based on merit and interviews. There aren't many available though in comparison to the student intake .

College Review of Sunandan Divatiya School of Science, NMIMS by batch of 2018-21

Placement Experience:

In the final i.e. 6th-semester students become eligible for campus placements. In recent times Deloitte has selected around 15 students at an annual salary of 4 Lakhs. The 2nd company Equity has hired only 3 students at an annual salary of 8 Lakhs. But the placement cell will improve over time. Around 70- 80% of the students got placements who have applied in the placement cells.

The placement opportunity during my time was a little taken a back as it was relatively new but with time it pushed it's limit so the students can have a better recovery on their loans and they deserved much more better than their capabilities.

Placements here are 100% guaranteed, almost everyone is placed, the training is also given accordingly by the training and placement department in the college. We also do internships in our final year.

Placements and recruitment services provided by the college are amazing. There are almost 100% placements of the students offered by this college. Few of the companies which are mass recruiters for this college are Apollo Hospitals, Axis Bank, Bajaj Electricals, BARC, Cipla, Fortis Hospital, Glenmark Pharma, HDFC Bank, Infosys, etc. with packages beginning from 3 Lakhs per annum to 12 Lakhs per annum.

This college makes sure that the each and every student is placed in a reputated institute. Though depending on the institute we may or may not get stipend but getting experience is more important here. They also conduct campus placement for final year students.
