Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College was established in 1966 and was then affiliated to Mysore University. Later in 1989, the college got affiliation from Mangalore University. In 2007, the college attained its autonomous status. Presently, the college offers a number of courses at undergraduate, post graduate and research level under the departments of Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, History, English, Kannada, Sanskrit, Computer Science, Commerce, Hindi, Home Science, Physical Education, Political Science, Statistics, NCC and Library Science.

SDM College Ph.D Admission 2024
Under its Research Centre, the college offers Doctoral in Kannada, Economics, Sanskrit, English, Psychology, Chemistry, Physics and Commerce. Ph.D Kannada, History, Economics, Sanskrit and English are affiliated to Hampi Kannada University. Other research courses are affiliated to Tumkur University except Ph.D Psychology which has been affiliated to Managalore University.
Candidates holding Master’s in the relevant disciplines and have secured 55% aggregate are eligible to apply for admissions. Admissions will be based on candidate’s academic performance, written entrance test and interview.

Key Points:
- For final merit list, ratio of weightage of qualifying marks and entrance test will be 50:50.
- Teachers of University to which the program is affiliated to and its colleges, appointed on regular basis shall have post graduate degree with 50% aggregate marks.
- Candidates of reserved categories are also entitled to relaxation of 5% marks in minimum qualifying marks at degree level.
- Following candidates are exempted from the written entrance test by the university:
