Eurotech Maritime Academy is based in Kochi, Kerala. The institute provides short-term and long-term degree courses in marine engineering. Their courses include training in communication, navigation, catering among other things. It offers training to those who aspire to be in the merchant navy. This academy also provides refresher courses for seafarers. Students from this academy have got jobs at shipping companies.

The institute has few pre-sea courses and few post-sea courses. While the B.Tech course is a four-year one, others are short-term courses.

B.Tech. is a four-year course. The candidate needs a minimum of 60 percent score in 12th board exams to apply for the course. Only unmarried men will be considered for the course

For pre-sea course in for electro-technical officer- The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics with minimum 60% and English as separate subjects with minimum 50% marks in English Language at 10th or 12th standard exam Passed three year’s Diploma with 60% marks or four year’s Degree, with 50% marks in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication / Communication Engineering, or Electronics and Instrumentation or equivalent. The diploma/degree courses must have been recognized by any State or Central Government or the AICTE. This is a short-term course for four months.

For pre-sea course for catering personnel- The course is for 22 days. The candidate should have a degree or diploma in hotel management and should be between 18 and 25 years of age. The candidate should also have a scored minimum of 40 percent in English in the 12th board exam.

Certificate course for maritime catering is a six months course. There is no pre-requisite to apply for this course.

General purpose rating course is for six months. There is no pre-requisite to apply for this course.

Advanced Training for STCW courses can stretch from one day to 10 days.The candidate needs to be a seafarer to apply for this course.

Basic refresher course is a half-day course. This course can stretch anywhere between 16 days and four months. The candidate needs to be a seafarer to apply for this course.

Engineer’s upgrade course is a course for marine engineers. This is just for three days.

Euro Tech Maritime Academy was set up in 2005. It was inaugurated by the then chief minister Oomen Chandy. Students from this college have been placed in private shipping companies.

B. Tech marine engineering is provided by the academy to the students who have passed 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized Indian Board with at least 45 percent marks. Then they will have to apply and the students will be selected on interview basis.
